Just reading all the nonsense going on with Cotto Geale and the catch weight **** I started looking back at some of Manny's fights especially with

    Cotto Margarito and Delahoya

    Now Cotto Geale

All who are trained by non other than Freddie Roach !!

Is he the reason behind all these catch weights or what ?

    Discuss !

Well considering Oscar hadn't fought at ww in almost a decade it was close to a catchweight considering Oscar had to be drained :good

That's not what a catchweight is. If Roman fought Wlad at 168 it would not be a catchweight, it would be a SMW fight. :good

But yes, Oscar was a drained zombie.

That's one way to get around catchweights. So instead of fighting DLH at a catchweight of 150, make him go down a FULL division so it's not a catchweight. Make it 2X worse than a catchweight.

No your right it wasn't a catchweight but they knew draining Oscar would, work,to,their advantage same with the Catchweights .. like how Cotto just had Geale drained .

Or you could do what SRL did and drag your LHW opponent down to a 167 catchweight and challenge for the vacant SMW title and your opponent's LHW title all in one night. :thumbsup

Thank you for sanctioning that one WBC, very just indeed :happy

Yep, It was a farce. Fighting at a catch weight below the SMW limit for the LHW title. :patsch

Cotto thinks he is Gods gift to boxing. He speaks of himself in the third person and has the attitude that he is the best fighter in the world and anyone that wants to fight him has to give in to ridiculous demands.

I wish he would just retire, its pathetic, he was never a great fighter to begin with and has lost to anyone he has fought that had a pulse. Injured/Old/Shot Martinez is the best win on his resume.

True, but at least the WBC isn't letting it be for a title in 2 divisions at once this time around.
