Just watched the Showtime version of Taylor/Froch, Did anybody notice the great job Rob McCracken did in the Froch corner. The guy was excellent imo really kept Froch in check and grounded him on a few occasions when the Froch ego was starting to rear it's ugly head.
He is really turning out to be a great trainer and the advice he was giving round after round(Although Froch didn't hear it until the second half of the fight) was right on the money. This guy deserves some credit for his part in the rise of Carl Froch.

I thought that last night, McCracken did a very good job, his advice was spot on and inbetween the 10-11 round when I thought I heard Froch say "I'm not going to do it am I?" McCracken was quick to dismiss it and tell Carl what he should be doing to win. If he could only get Carl to tighten up the defence a bit.

McCracken did a superb job in the corner but shouldn't he have his fighter better prepared before the fight? It was obvious that Taylor would land easily if Froch hadn't improved his defence.

    McCracken did a great job.

I can't believe this fight was not shown in England!

Shame Froch never once listened to him and got his hands up!

McCracken was speaking alot of sense but im not convinced Froch was taking much of it in, and just seemed to be boxing on insinct.

I'd agree. His(McCracken's) competance would be illustrated better with a fighter who actually took on board and tried to impliment his advice.
Froch is Froch and I doubt anyone could change him.

Hes a great trainer, but he seriously needs to convince Froch to keep his gloves up.He said that many times but it fell on deaf ears. At this level Froch must have a better defence.

The fact that Froch wouldnt listen about keeping his guard up must be a worry

Some of the Americans on the GF were critical of McCracken.

I thought his advice was pretty much spot on throughout.

I echo this, he was good.

The thing is, you are only as "world class" as your fighter...really. Just because Froch won or lost, it wouldn't really have changed McCracken's abilities. He's been doing his thing for some years.

The reason i ask if he's World Class now is he has guided Froch to the Title over Pascal and now the first defence against good opposition on foreign soil.
Although Froch didn't listen to him so much early you can see the respect between the two and the way McCracken talks to Froch he cut's straight to the chase "Stop Loading up and box this guy...He's making you look silly" and a great line after i think the eight round when Froch smugley sit's in his corner saying "I've got him" and McCracken tells him "Listen son...No you don't". Really impressed.:yep

I like the fact that he is able to get his points across in a firm but controlled manner.

You listen to some guys like Pepe Correa carrying on and think jeez..... even someone like Billy Graham gets pretty animated, whilst McCracken stays calm.
