Is Roberto Duran a coward for being so defensive on the inside?

Duran was so scared to get hit clean on the inside that he developed a whole range of cowardly skills and techniques that made him leave fights basically unmarked.

Only face first brawlers are fearless.

    Brandon Rios a G.

As a boxing fan I admire Mayweathers bravery to employ defence on the outside where there is more chance of an opponent landing a Tommy Hearns punch. If Duran had learned to employ a much riskier Mayweather style defence rather than his 'Parry-Hug-Hit-Hold' style defence then he probably wouldn't have been starched by The Hitman Hearns.

Had Floyd Mayweather fought Duran's competition at their level when Duran fought them(As well as peak Duran himself), Floyd would have had at least 6 losses:hey:yep.

Except Floyd wouldn't risk stepping foot in the ring with someone like Hearns where he knows he has every disadvantage possible like Duran had.

He got starched by Hearns because he was a lightweight facing one of the hardest punching Light Middleweight to ever box.

Yeah, Duran never adjusted:patsch:lol:. He was SOOO one dimensional:lol:. Allow me to repeat myself. If Mayweather had fought Duran's comp when he fought them(peak Duran included. Actually Floyd would NEVER have fought Duran's best comp when he fought them). Floyd would have 6 losses on his ledger.

but Floyd fought Canelo and schooled him. Canelo's bigger than Hearns, stronger and punches as a natural middleweight. Hearns was a skinny welter with a poor chin and chicken legs. I believe Floyd would stop Tommy with a pull counter.
