That is by far the worst post I have ever seen in a semi intellectual thread on this site. Sure it doesn't compare to 'Mayweather is the GOAT' bollocks, but that was pretty special.

There was no gift against Jimmy Young, that's a ****ing myth. Watch the fight. Young does **** all, and Ali looks ****. He definitely won enough rounds to win though.

Doug Jones got robbed? A close fight = robbery?

Fair dos for playing Devil's Advocaat as I did when posting Duran's losses.

Ali is as famous for his politics & Parkinson's as he is for his performances

Choosing Ali over Duran is like preferring Mandela to Mugabi

Edit: this was intended as a joke, reading back through the thread this post makes me shake my head. Sorry.

Yeah, Duran just is 100000000x times superior, obviously!

How did you score the fights if you don't mind me asking? I won't bother with the rest because I'm not trolling.

Ali wa past prime for most of the 70s in your opinion then?

I had a look for my card that I did a couple months ago, but it's not anywhere in my laptop. I remember the 3rd fight being won by a round and the last round being the winner for me. I'll give them a quick watch and get back to you.

And yes, I do indeed. What he did past prime is comparable to Duran's efforts.

Round 1 - Ali. Not much happens. Norton has one good body shot. Rest of work by Ali (3-4 good lead rights to the head)
Round 2 - Even. Ali covering up for first minute or so of round. Norton has a couple decent overhand rights land, and good body work.
Round 3 - Ali. Norton lands best punch of round - hard right to the head, but Ali has the activity, and made Norton miss with a lot while doing the pitty patty stuff. Ali round for me
Round 4 - Norton. Solid combinations by Ali at start of round landed. Good defence again by Muhammad, blocking most of Norton's work. Good hard overhand right landed by Norton though. Solid punches by Norton towards end of round.
Round 5 - Norton. Clearest round to score so far for me. Ali covering up on ropes. Good work by Norton. Ali taking a rest, it seems.
Round 6 - Norton. Another clowning round by Ali, with Norton doing the work. Damages Ali with a good body shot near end.
Round 7 - Ali. Ali comes out much more lively. Keeping away from Norton's right. Ali lands a good couple of combinations. Makes Norton miss a lot. Good Ali round.
Round 8 - Even. Norton stalks Ali. Lands mostly on gloves/shoulders of Ali while he lays against ropes though. Good body shot landed at mid way point. Decent uppercut landed by Ali. No real round winner evident.
Round 9 - Ali. Dancing brought into it. Norton is really ineffective when Ali is on move and jabbing. Good onetwo landed by Ali. Overhand landed by Ken in last 30 seconds. Not enough to turn round. Clear Ali round for me.
Round 10 - Even. Even round to midway point. Ali dancing and tying up Norton well when he stops moving. Good left landed by Ali. Close round. Last 30 seconds has Norton winging in his wild rights and missing. Drawn round. Neither did enough.
Round 11 - Ali. More flat footed Ali. Norton against ropes. Good defensive work done by Norton. Good hard right landed by Ali in last minute. Norton continues to go to the body and throw wild rights (missing)
Round 12 - Norton. Norton doing the work, Ali taking a rest it seems. Ali starts firing back in last minute. Not enough to change round.
Round 13 - Norton. Even round for first 2 minutes. Good exchange near end of round, give and take. Ali landed more shorts, Norton landed harder shots.
Round 14 - Even. Norton lands a few solid single shots. Ali lands a nice combo in middle of round. Last minute is a bit scrappy, no real decisive blows landed.
Round 15 - Ali. Dancing works for Ali again. Leaves Norton ineffective for first half of round with Ali jabbing from outside. Norton lands a decent right when he catches Ali close to ropes at the halfway mark. Ali continues dancing with Norton making wild lunges. Norton lands some hard single shots at end. Not enough.

    6-5-4

As I said, final round won it. Card seems similar to one I did couple of months ago.

Fight proves to me that a prime Ali would have much less trouble with Norton, as when he danced he won rounds decisively.

    Ali- Norton 3

    A-N

1: 10-9 - good first round by ali, landing good shots and staying ut of range for the most part.
2: 9-10 - clear norton round with ali seeming unable to avoid the shots from his awkward stance.
3: 9-10 - close round, but norton was the ring general and i preffered his big shots to ali's shoe shining.
4: 9-10 - another close round, norton seemd the general and was able to land his big right throughout the round, finishing quite strongly
5: 9-10 - ali trying to rope a dope but just getting tagged at will by norton in quite a 1 sided round.
6: 9-10 - ali fights a bit better at some points keeping norton at rage, but he just as no answer for his wild attacks and loses another clear round.
7: 10-9 - ali opened up more looking in control, norton was able to land a couple of looping rights but not enough to steal the round.
8: 9-10 good work closing ali down and really good mix of body shots and head shots by nroton.
9: 10-9 - dominant round by ali, really controlled the action from the outside making norton look quite poor at times.
10: 10-9 - ali seemed to take this round off but norton did even less. good finish by norton in the last 10 seconds but it was too little too late to nick the round.
11: 10-9 - very good action round, ali landing at will for the most part with sustained combos, good finish by norton but again, too little too late.
12: 9-10 - close round but i think norton showedsuperior defence and aggression plus his shots were much more effective imo.
13: 9-10 - great round, very action packe with the two trading shots but it can't be denied that norton is the bigger puncher in this fight and his sots are having much more effect than the blocked shots being thrown by ali.
14: 9-10 - another good round, ali visibly tiring now so having to stand and trade much more which gives the edge to the harder punching norton, ali still is unable to avoid the looping lefts and resorts to just covering up when he takes the big body combos.
15: 10-9 - all the hard shots came from norton at the end but it doesn't negate the 2 minutes plus of nothing as he was controlled by ali's outside jab and footwork.

Round 2 and 8 are the swingers then. Depends how you see it. The fight is NOT a robbery though.
