I don't think he is doing that. Alot of people are going to that site and he was actually putting the site down. Stop being an instigator.

No, Whitaker easily beat Chavez to get robbed, and the same happened with Oscar. He also beat Vasquez and Azumah who are a lot better than people give credit for. Whitaker is not Duran level but he is definitely at the very least borderline all time great

Duran was at his best at 135. He flat out dominated that division and was terrorizing opponents.

Sure, he fought the big names at higher weights where he wasn't as effective, but he was still real solid.

I think Pernell Sweet Pea Whitaker would have outclassed Duran like Benitez and Hearns did. Same kind of speed and pedigree of fighter which Duran really did not come close to fighting at lightweight. Saying he would have beaten Whitaker is not that simple. I am surprised at people not seeing this stuff. Maybe they know it but don't want to admit it. Duran did well when he fought average guys at 147 and 154 and 160, it is when he fought the elite level is when he lost and he never fought that pedigree of fighter at lightweight. Did he? Duran fans why don't you tell the thread who where were the Hearns and Leonards or Whitakers of the lightweights when Duran was there.

He's slightly overrated in the sense that people have this impression that he was unbeatable in his prime/when he was in Montreal.

    But that's about it.

I do think a Whitaker Duran fight at 135 would be very competitive but i would slightly favor Duran. At 147 I would favor Whitaker slightly.

But p4p and in all time ranking I do rank Duran much higher than Pernell, and I would probably have Pernell in my top 30 if i took the time to think

Neither guy fought the cream of the crop at lightweight to be honest. From what I have seen I think Whitaker almost wins all rounds. Duran did well when he had a guy fight him and where he could dodge a guys punch and then counter, that was his best. But when a guy moved and gave him distance and used speed, and you are not going to be in range Duran could do nothing, and only a few guys could exploit this weakness in him. Leonard and Benitez and Hearns the exceptions, and Hearns did not outbox him, so really only Leonard and Benitez outclassed him that way. Hearns just outsped him and was too sharp.

On a serious note Duran is a bit overrated but still very great....but he should never be rated ahead of Leonard, Hagler, or Hearns...and really Benitez was just as impressive as Duran...and he stayed in good shape and took his craft seriously....
