    Sure he's relevant.......just as Joe Louis and Ike Williams and Jack Dempsey are relevant. If you're smart, you can learn from all of these guys as well as any other ATG you care to study. They're all worth knowing about.

    Did Marciano ever see a punch that didn't land square on his face?

    Marciano = Overrated...

    Marciano is an Italian icon, if nothing else. Over rated as a fighter no doubt but still he will have quite a legacy for generations.

    He is overrated and underrated at the same time, and I believe his undefeated record is the least important thing about his legacy. In fact I'd have rather seem in retire with a few decision losses.

    Yea he's definitely relevant no doubt about it. Beat an ATG top 3 LHW master boxer Charles and the dangerous late bloomer in Walcott a skillful boxer/puncher who would get the best of the great Joe Louis in sparring. Marciano had so many disadvantages it wasn't even funny. Easily one of the bravest fighters ever and his training was legendary perhaps his key in overcoming the odds aside from his great heart. Hasnt been another fighter like Marciano since. No white hype either.

    Of course he is. He is more relevant than any fighter today history wise. He fought during one of the best eras in boxing. Its the fighters today that wont be remembered. 47 different weight divisions, 300 different champions, fighters not fighting eachother lol, this era wont be remembered.

    Most relevant/skilled/accomplished undefeated fighters ever: Floyd Mayweather Jr, Ricardo Lopez, Rocky Marciano, Joe Calzaghe

    Marciano once sat on that list on his own for a long while. Did something very difficult to do. Only the LaStarza fight in his career was debatable, which he did later redeem. Retiring in his prime.

    Beat top 25 HW ever-Walcott X2 to become champ, top 15 P4P and 20 HW ever-Charles X2, top 10 P4P ever-Moore, LaStarza once to redeem a previous SD, and KO'd an ancient Joe Louis. His fights were super dramatic and showed mad heart and power. Cockell, Layne, Savold, and Matthews wins are what he has to further back up his career wins.

    I think it's a hell of a resume, top 5 HW ever, but hey, that's just me.

    He was an iconic HW champ.

    Anyway, it would seem that most nowadays use him as a negative reference point and think poorly about his talent and achievements. Many people rank the Klitschko's ahead of him, which I find to be insulting.
