I'd say his only competition might be Evander, but I'd say Rocky takes it. Took out Hvywt legends and men much bigger than him in brutal fashion, causing terrible damage to them. And fought was heavyweight champ 4 years running going undefeated. Discuss....

Earnie Shavers came in just above the CW limit in many of his fights.

This should probably be in Classic.

That said I think that he probably was if you consider the overall damage dealt over a round. Punch for punch DirtyDan might be right in picking Dempsey. Dempsey's best shots were monstrous.

I also think that Marciano would beat Dempsey in a gruelling affair. But punch for punch, the manassa mauler might hit harder.

Marciano's Suzie Q is one of those boxing ATG hits. I mean, what other boxer has a single punch that's been named? (This isn't rhetorical either, I'm going through my brain and drawing a blank, if anyone can name one!)

But in the end, it's always gonna be a thing of speculation, with X believing X. Because there's no way to ever accurately compare it.

I'd just say that he's on the short list for the hardest puncher.

Pacman's right hook was called 'Manila Ice" by some. More a marketing thing though.

Razor Ruddock's powerful hybrid right uppercut was called "smash". Although no other fighter had a cooler nor more often used nickname for a punch than Rocky.

Have you ever seen Haye hit a opponent unconcious with a single punch or at all?

    There's your answer.
