Dwight Braxton/Muhammed Qwawi (or however it's spelled) should get a mention, otherwise Marciano.

Ingemar Johansson called his right fist "toonder and lightning" as Floyd Patterson can attest to. It was also called "Ingo's bingo" and the "hammer of Thor".

Tyson never KOed a great prime fighter, so hardly a telling criteria for measuring power.

Ezzard Charles was only 33. Marciano was 31, which is pretty close in age.

LaStarza, Matthews, and Layne were good prime fighters that had never been KOed before.

Marciano was the small heavyweight fighter who can beat the bigger guys in that Division. How harder he would hit if he were the natural heavyweight fighter?

Archie Moore, like Bernard Hopkins was as good at Age 38 as he ever was in his career...look at Moores record leading up to the marciano fight

Yes, and Moore was awesome. Met him once in Memphis when I was a young kid. He was brought in to referee some "rassling" matches. I turned a corner and there he was. However, for my money, Maricano is the man.

Moore was built like a tank, but a highly skilled tank. Atg puncher too. Marciano had to feint constantly and pressure him at a hellish rate cuz he wasn't going to beat the Old Mongoose by throwing one punch at a time like David Haye or most heavyweights today do.

They never would have fought. Haye would have talked trash to gain attention but would have found a reason to avoid the fight.
