    215 lbs vs. 185 C'mon
Rocky at 215 lbs. would have killed Walcott with that punch

I don't call the shots. I'm just going by what he was listed as when he fought. As a matter of fact, there wasn't a cruiser weight division when he was fighting. Fighters just wasn't as big as the fighters of today are. He was a heavy weight plain and simple.

Shavers didn't KO any of the better fighters he fought. Marciano and Dempsey did. Savagely.

Marciano knocked out Rex Layne, who had wins over Joe Walcott and Ezzard Charles. Marciano knocked him out cold, shaving most of his teeth off.

Marciano also outpointed a 33-year-old version of Ezzard Charles who may have been a bit shop-worn but went 15 rounds and showed tremendous stamina and reflexes, so he was obviously still very much in his prime.

Then we have Marciano vs Walcott, a brutal KO. Remember, Jersey Joe was the reigning Heavyweight Champion of the World. You can't say he was past his prime, because he learned through the years and at age 37 he hit his prime and beat Ezzard Charles for the title. It happens. Bernard Hopkins was also at his peak at that age.

Marciano also brutalized 39-year-old Archie Moore. People say Moore was past his prime but I say he was the reigning Ligh-Heavyweight Champion of the World. Again, you can't say the best fighter in a weight division is past his prime. Like Bernard Hopkins at that age, Archie was obviously not past his prime.

Roland LaStarza was 29 years old, and had beaten Rex Layne on points to get a title shot. He had lost a close decision to Marciano 3 years earlier, and thought he had been robbed. Marciano knocked him out in 11, fracturing bones in his arms in an attempt to bring down his guard.

Against 37-year-old Joe Louis (Wlad is now 39), Marciano was the betting underdog. The betters and sports writers of that time obviously didn't think Joe was past his prime, probably because he was on an 8-fight winning streak. Marciano knocked him out in stunning fashion.

    :hi:

Other than Dempsey , Marciano was clearly a bigger puncher than all. Those guys

Satterfield hit Layne with everything he got and Layne took it. One right hand from Marciano curled Layne into a fetal position
