Again, very silly. This is just ideas in your head.. marciano is rated on what he did in real life. He is not over rated in real life. His stature and legacy is compared to his Times.

How you think he gets on in fantasy won't change reality. All time great.

You can only fight who is around at the time, and if somebody is consistently beating the best, then you have to give them due credit for it.

Far from silly. What is silly is this pathetic idea that if Marciano was hit by a prime 220 plus PUNCHER, it would have no effect because when he was hit by old men, light heavies, and journeymen, even though some of them were " names " it didn't bother him.

Secondly you are a million miles away from reality with the last part of your post. His silly fanboys far from comparing his legacy and stature to HIS TIMES, try to compare him with these times, and those that preceded them from Liston onward's.

We can make comparisons but that's all they are "comparisons". It does not erase reality. In reality Marciano is not over rated.

Today's Times we have a lot of Oaf like specimens and 40 year old prospects.

Nobody can imagine jess Willard beating Marciano, yet many CAN imagine Jess doing quite well today. But that is fantasy again. Let's just stick with reality. Marciano is not overrated.:good

Don't know what your so picky about. Watch Marciano vs Walcott I, Charles I and Moore fights. All three opponents look spectacular on film. Amazingly skilled. Clearly Rocky was challenged

In some ways Walcott looked a lot better than Marciano in their first fight. I became an instant fan the minute I saw Joe in action. He didn't look 38 and he fought a great fight.
I sometimes wonder how differently today each would be viewed had Walcott won.

    Well he is and isn't!
Legacy wise he deserves all the accolades, retiring undefeated and beat the best of his era.
That's all you can do and I think he's also feted because he was probably the most relentless and in my opinion fittest heavyweight champion ever,he was a bit of a freak of nature the way he maintained his pace or even increased it later in gruelling and tough fights.
Head to head he's probably a tad overrated by some but there's plenty who don't.
    Undoubtedly an ATG though.

exaggeration, he brought his brother along as one of the sparring mates in exhibitions so that his brother could make a pay day this was no fraud, it was nothing like Don King paying Ring magazine to raise Holmes opponents records. This was a play match that was sparring, nothing official and he got his brother Peter a payday and probably saved a few bucks himself...it was not a real fight and he was taking it light on his kid brother and there was no deception because his brother Peter looked like his twin.....how far Marciano haters will go to scandalize him is funny

Bummy you are a good poster, but on this particular subject you are ful of sh*t.

Marciano's original opponent did not show.
This left Marciano with three options.
    1.Cancel the exhibition
2.Inform the paying public that said opponent was not available ,but that he was willing to box his teenaged bother as a fill in.

3.Substitute his brother without informing the paying public that the man in the opposite corner was not only not the advertised opponent but was actually Marciano's teenaged brother.
    Marciano chose option 3.

    End of story.

Correct, he chose the softer option.
His brother was introduced as Rocky Marshmallow.
