Is Roy broke?

the reason he never made top money was because he was hsi own promotor.

You need a top promotor like Oscar or Arum

just like floyd and pac have

Yes he was his own promoter, and promoters always take your money from you

 

Roy Jones actually never got paid as much as people think, especialy for his popularity.

 

I have a feeling he's broke. I love me some Roy and hope he retires from fighting... but I feel he'll always be able to make money making appearances and commentating.

 

He's broke! I attended the BWAA award dinner last May at the MGM & asked a certain promoter/matchmaker why on earth is ROY still fighting & he just shrugged his shoulders while sipping his vodka & said "He's broke" he's gotta do it!

 

Roy's career high purse was 10 mil for Ruiz. Him being his own promoter hurt more than it helped. Top Rank is so successful because they can build up B sides for their A sides to make intriguing match ups. With Roy it was just some mandatory.

Gone over this before. He has tax problems, which may or may not mean he is broke.

 

Of course he is in some sort of financial crisis.

But i genuinely do believe that Roy think he can still beat a lot of fighters out there which is why he is continuing to fight, it's pretty sad watching him like this.

Getting knocked out by Tarver and Johnson is completely different than getting knocked out by Lebedev.
