He's not a contender. Even guys like Cloud & Diaconu would whip him.

Yes he's done but I ain't going to get down about it.
Gave me some great shows, fantastic boxer in his day.
I hope he becomes a trainer, pass that style on to others because it's rare.

You cant teach that style, you gotta either have it or you dont. You have to have extreme speed, reflexes & footwork. On top of that, you gotta have that level of confidence & that mentality. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER RJJ

Cosign. There will NEVER be another Roy Jones, that is why it's a damn shame to see him in the state that he is in now. This generation will never get a chance to see the RJJ that we grew up seeing. They just see a damn shell of one of the greatest fighters who ever lived.

Another one people have forgotten about was a prime Pernell Whitaker.

You just cant teach anyone the mind of RJJ

dont forget how good calzaghe is.

:patsch. Oh yeah, that would help his legacy out and make him a true contender. Does the LHW division even have more than 20 guys?
There's guys at 168 & even 160 that could whip Jones.

    I hope you're wrong.
The thought of never seeing another peak RJJ is one I don't care to indulge. Boxing needs guys like him.

I mean, the only guy that came after RJJ that had the talent & skills to be like him was PBF, but even PBF couldn't fight like RJJ for 12 rounds. RJJ had so much confidence and on top of that it was the type of mentality he had. When he walked in the ring, he had intentions of making you look like you were a D level fighter, embarrassing you, you cant teach stuff like that, you're born with it. Like I said, there's only been 1 guy after RJJ that matched him as far as reflexes, speed, footwork & mentall smartness goes, and PBF wasn't even a RJJ. THERE WILL NEVER BE A RJJ AGAIN!

He is 5-6 years past "done", but still wants to carry on, for some reason which I don't understand.

No it doesn't, he's a tosser. America's answer to Naseem Hamed, a showboating, posing, strutting arsehole who insults his opponents in the ring and one who makes chickens do unspeakable things for fun to boot. How anyone can like the guy is beyond me, regardless of how good he was.
If Naz was American you'd all love him just like Jones. Basically the same personality.
