So Tarver and Johnson were the only legit LH's he's ever fought?

Jones has a bad chin just as much as Larry Homes does... for being KO'ed outside of his prime.

Difference is Joe Calzaghe has bad technique..and throws arm punches...and short little punches.

Roy Jones just like Mike Tyson..could execute full blown power shots..in combination form...with Laser like speed.

It's always good to add in your own opinion after a comment like that.

The fact you said "hah" as if it was an outrageous statement makes me slightly confused. Surely he'd be in your top 10 of all time (speedwise)?

I was busy today but the 'hah' was just because I so often see numerous threads with Jones being the greatest of all time with something. Either pound for pound best, or in this case fastest. Top 10 for hand speed? I'm assuming you mean pound-for-pound. Then I don't think so but things like this can be subjective. Just off the top of my head quick theres Ali, Patterson, Tyson, and Louis. Holmes, Tunney, and Charles were very fast; Walcott was too with some punches. Jeffries was very fast for his size and carried it throughout the fight most times. Moore was quite fast himself also, as well as Dokes.

Why did you even go into Dokes, Moore, Jeffries, Tunney, Charles, Louis, Holmes, Walcott, etc? None of them are even close to as fast as Jones, even P4P. Ali, Patterson, and Tyson are somewhat close in a P4P sense, considering they were the fastest HW's ever, but still definitely not as fast as Jones.

Your post was the only one deserving of a "hah".

Jones at 168 was probably his best and the fastest weight for him? Quite possibly. So lets pick Jeffries for example. The 168 lb Jones is faster p4p than the the 217-220lb Jeffries? Basically if Jeffries lost over 40 pounds you still think he'd be slower than Jones? I sure don't. He could move fast and with over 40 pounds taken away, he'd presumably be that much faster. Thats why p4p is tricky since its harder to know for sure but I don't see Jones being faster.
And Louis is insanely fast I'm not sure why you don't include him in the second part of your statement with Ali, Patterson, and Tyson.

You think Jim Jeffries had P4P better handspeed, better foot movement, and better reflexes than Jones? I assume you're joking, otherwise I'll simply end the argument right here, because I don't want to get a headache. And even if we weren't doing straight up P4P, Jones is faster PERIOD than Floyd was at 130 IMO. That shows you how fast he was. Jim Jeffries? :patsch

Louis was very slow of foot and reflexes. He had good handspeed. Saying he's insanely fast is like saying Buster Douglas at his best was insanely fast. Seriously, what an immense exagerration. Have you ever seen him fight?

Are you kidding me? Have I seen him fight thats funny. I was talking about handspeed, go back and read my original detailed post. Handspeed, the ones I chose are faster p4p.

If you honestly think that you are delusional. Seriously, what the hell are you thinking? Joe Louis had fast hands for a HW, not extremely fast. Jones was phenomenally fast for any weight, especially 160-175. He also fought at HW, and was way faster against Ruiz than Louis ever was. The fact that Louis was a better HW doesn't mean he's faster. None of the fighters you named are even close. Patterson at 175 was very fast, but not quite as fast as Jones at 175, nor in a P4P sense.

Seriously, what are you thinking? Either you're delusional to a point of being legally insane, you're messing with me, or you bring nuthugging old timers to a whole new level. In fact, I'm gonna make a thread about this. This is unbelievable that you think this.

Nonsense. This is the General Boxing Forum and not the History section so I'll give you a break. Joe had extremely fast hands, his combinations were excellent. Make your thread little boy, I don't 'nuthug', I'm just stating that p4p Louis had faster hands than Jones. There wouldn't be debates of who was faster, Louis or Tyson if they were both slow. If I still cared, I would look for the article stating how fast Louis's punches were but this is getting annoying.
