Patterson may have been faster at HW. Hard to tell since video quality is not as good.

Paterson, Ali, and Tyson all have cases. But Roy Jones, despite weighing under 200, could have been faster than all 3.

First off I don't consider RJJ a heavyweight.

How many fights does he have at the division? :D

  5. True as far as i know he had only 1 fight against Ruiz in 03, at 200 lbs, it's a moot point, Ali was the fastest at Heavy..:deal

    There you go. :yep

It's unfair to compare a regular heavy weight fighter on speed against a smaller fighter who moved up from the lower weight and fought only one fight in that division.

According to ring magazine yes, i believe so too but havnt seen enough of Patterson to know for sure, I think he had and edge on Ali for sure.

Roy isn't a heavyweight. But if you want to play that game, than the answer is yes.

I'll be well in the minority, but I'll take Tyson. Ali a close second.

Just saw a the first 19 fights of Tyson in a DVD, and I should say, he should be ranked at the top here.

Ali had the fastest hands of just about every fighter I have ever seen, regardless of weight. It was, to steal a word from Amsterdam, supernatural how fast he threw them.

Jones was probably the fastest all around tho.

I would have to put Ali #1 as fastest hw. If we put RJJ in the hw division, then yes he would be the fastest but can we really put him in that division?
