Anything between 175-235 could be right. It is kind of like asking how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop...the world will never know.

I think LHW being generous, even SMW. MW could well be possible if you think that Jacobs and Chavez and these types could make it. The comparison shots are excellent because it shows the reality of his stature, that 6'2 is a lie. There are many other clues that have been mentioned before here and there. To get to HW size at his stature without obesity you have to be a body builder or on serious juice, it's not magic. And yes Tyson and no doubt Tua were seriously PED'd. The idea Ruiz is some natural massive built dude underneath the fat is silly, and the idea he's built huge muscle reserves by gym work is even sillier considering he's a known slacker.

I think it's just hard for people to believe that he could be that naturally small and compete at HW and also destroy AJ. But that makes him an interesting test subject in a way. It is surprising in a sense. It shows these smaller guys can still take out HWs when they land on the button. It's not usually put to the test. But it also makes sense that it could happen when MWs have gone up and done damage before. If you can generate enough force to accelerate a skull right, you can do the damage. Skulls aren't very large, particularly AJ's.

I think people underestimate how much fat you can hold and how heavy it is. There are 5'5 females walking around at 220lbs, able to do day to day things. They're not just ''largely built'' underneath. They naturally weigh 120lbs.

It's all jiggly, shaking fat over his titties, belly and waist. Even when he was in some sort of shape for Joshua 1.

I sort of agree that he doesn't need to make Cw, but he should be 220-230lbs fit.

If and when he stops boxing he would do well to trim down even more to 200 ish.

Otherwise he's gonna be another one of the countless number of Mexican type 2 diabetics who die young and lose fingers and toes on the way.

No way he can go below 200 and be effective. Look at his wide shoulders. He's got a big frame and at his best shape, he'd be about 220-230.

Yup, he's not even that big. He's all fat. He makes CW easily if he had any discipline. He's 6'0 tops. James Toney weighed up to 250 pounds and was 5'9.

He was still fat and grossly out of shape weighing in around 250 lbs, so yes.

If he had an actual visible 6 pack, how much would he weigh? Does anybody have a picture of him showing a visible 6 pack whilst being weighed in a scale?

Or if he lost all his unnecessary body-fat around his midsection, how much would he weigh?

Is there any evidence that a heavyweight Andy Ruiz Jr is naturally and functionally any bigger than a heavyweight James Toney? I mean, if James Toney could fight at cruiser-weight and light heavyweight, then why couldn't Andy Ruiz Jr?

Look at the way the fat hangs off him. He has rolls of it. Big folds of it. He has to be about 45% body fat at 270 pounds.
154 might be a bit beyond an imaginary lean version of him, but he'd be no more than 168 or 175.
I've seen men who looked less fat than him go on weight loss programs and drop 100 pounds to really look in good shape.

People are grossly (no pun intended) underestimating how much actual extra weight all that fat represents.

He could certainly shift a few pounds but at the end of the day he has a thick frame.

Some of the comments on here saying he could get below 200 pounds and still perform..... you are clueless.

Ruiz Jr did actually lose weight following the Parker loss, but he piled it all back on again when he went back into camp and fought Devin Vargas.

Ruiz Jr's ideal weight is probably around 220lbs to 230lbs. He was 255lbs against Parker and 268lbs for AJ 1. He was 260 for the Devin Vargas fight.

He looked to be around 230lbs in the aftermath of the Parker loss. But he piled it all back on again as soon as he started training.

Given his eating habits whilst training and in daily life, he isnt even going to be anything less than HW.

I understand that Teddy Atlas made demands of him to train him regarding diet, and was told in no uncertain terms to **** off

I would estimate his optimal fighting weight to peform to his peak potential, is around 220-230 lbs. He looked around 230lbs in the aftermath of the parker loss when he wasnt even training, so I am sure he could stay there if he wished to. He seems to be an over eater when in training

He hasn't seen 168 since middle school or high school

I dont think he has to get any lower than 240
