is ruslan a shott fighter???? he didnt look great against travis wlaker last time out........then again povetkin didnt look great against firtha....i know most of u are picking povetkin....im picking ruslan due to experiance and due to being a southpaw and not dealing with teddy atlas/
Beating Meehan and Walker is fairly decent, although he should have been able to stop Walker. I think Povetkin is just that little bit hungrier and will edge it on points
This, except I wouldn't necessarily say he should've stopped Walker, because he's not really a puncher. I think he's faded by age and is physically diminished from taking a beating by Wlad and having the achilles problem, but not shot and should give Povetkin a good fight but lose on points.
The Chageav that beat Valuev, would beat Povetkin......but he is long gone....the injuries have demonetised his talents.
Walker is actually quite good. if he only had a chin he would be a major player in the hw division imo Chagaev´s major problem is that hes a southpaw but doesn´t see much on his left eye. Reportedly he suffers from a detached retina and that has probably gone worse over the years. If you watch that fight with Walker he had problems setting up his left, took shots he normally avoids easily and his left eye sticked out.. Let alone that he was physically weak, gassed after few rounds and got pushed around by Walker probably due to the lack of perperation.. for that fight with Povetkin though i expect him to go thru some decent camp and show up in shape.. actually he ain´t that featherfisted. he scored some crispy knockouts earlier in his career and had many stoppage wins in the amateurs Chagaev is the better boxer than Povetkin but Chagaev is lazy with his punches and Povetkin was used to come out and throw a million flurries. It could go similar to Chambers vs Povetkin if Povetkin is still the same he was back then but if Povetkin performs like he did in his about last five fights under Atlas imo hes going to lose..
I've followed both fighters closely but can't pick this one. At this stage Povektin losing would seem like the bigger surprise, but I wouldn't be confident picking him over Chagaev. I'm very excited for it though! More so than old Vitali-Adamek which seems like a gauranteed Vitali win
he was always going to look bad against walker..hes not a big puncher and the ring size was ****ing shocking..he looked gd at takin meehan out tho...i wouldnt say hes shot but would agree his best days are behind him...and if hes motivated he could cause the upset against povotkin
He is done. I expect chagaev to get Koed within 5 and call it a career. Chagaev doesnt have power anymore more and after the wlad beating and him being so inactive before the wlad fight due to heel injury. He lost 2 years outta his prime. He never was that great has a pro. WBA is garbage anding beating Big nick( brutal) and ruiz and inactive meehan means **** to me and the boxing world. Pov 5th round KO Chagaev retires
