I have been very underwhelmed by his string of tune ups, and what Roc nation are paying him for them is an embarassment. However, I think Andre is an exceptional talent who can rise to the occassion and bring out his best. He isn't doing himself any favors by fighting no hopers that is for sure.

If he wins this fight, it will be huge in terms of legacy based on how good and dangerous Kovalev is PERCEIVED...and I think he can win. If he loses however, history will look back at a fairly uneventful resume. Carl Froch, 2 other good wins and pretty much nothing else. When other fighters "dared to be great" in the past, I don't recall it being 3 fights and over 2 years later.

 

ward is 2 years younger than lil g....and took almost 2 years off...and still has a better resume...and when he adds kovalev to that resume it will be one lil g will never be able to equal

lil g will always take a back seat...he wont be able to catch up after kovalev....and ward will still be making as much money...even though hes boring and cant fill an arena

As for Brand. he arguably undefeated. His loss was a controversial loss to Badou Jack.

And this is a stay busy fight until he meets Kovalev.

I am not sure that Brand would be a good preparation for Kovalev. But it's Ward's problem and his promoter) who he fights for tune ups, as long as he faces Kovalev...
