Is Ryan Garcia for real?

I think the one thing that garcia has in his corner is the reynoso/canelo camp.

Like him, hate him or be indifferent - one of canelos biggest attributes is becoming a better boxer over time. Garcias biggest weakness, as I see it, will be relying on his speed. Like amir kahn. He needs to use that to his advantage while he has it but also use that time to develop a fix for his other faults. It will add some longevity to his career.

 

Also he keeps that chin wayyyy up in the air

 

Yeah there's plenty of room for improvement in lots of areas. How on earth he got set up for such a basic trap in the campbell fight is beyond me.

It would be nice to see Tank & Haney step up the comp as well.

Agreed. They both have great boxing skill but they've set the game difficulty to "very easy".

Judging by that clip posted earlier, he keeps his hands down too. Still think he'd get beat by the first actual good boxer he faces.

 

I routed for him on "The Contender", too, but his commentary that night was utterly shocking.

Luke Campbell is a good boxer

 

Speed and power is legit. His boxing skill is still up for debate. He has had 21 professional bouts now and last 5 opponents were decent matches which he won by stoppage. He is definitely a prospect for light weight. Only thing that will tell us if he is the real deal is when he actually steps into ring against another top contender.

I’d like to add Teofimo is just a year older , has less fights, but has accomplished more. Undisputed at 135 , undisputed at any weight is something very few boxers actually achieves in this day and age.

 

Boxing politics means that's not a fair take on the situation. Teo became undisputed with one fight rather than take each belt individually and also is associated with the same promotor/network as the incumbent. Still kudos for winning the fight but....

 

It's not just speed, his left is actually deadly. His right isn't too bad, but there's a world of difference for sure.
