Do 'losses' (especially a dubious one) in his second ever encounter really mean that much to his overall standing now? I mean Pac lost decisively to Torrecampo in his 12th & Singsurat in his 28th! So what?!

It's going over old ground & holding him up for bigger things surely? Will people will give him any credit for beating Salido now?? Loma is already beating better fighters with ease...

It's still not a bad opponent by any means but would you have liked someone else??

Yeah most likely, he looked average at best against Perez, he realizes the next time he steps up he'll probably lose, so he's going the most profitable route to a loss.

    Yep.
Although this fight just has to happen because otherwise it would always hang above Loma's head. No matter how that one went, no matter all the circumstances surrounding it, on paper he lost, and I've seen so many (troll) posters here that kept saying that Loma would lose a rematch when it looked like it would never happen.
Some even claim Loma was "outclassed" by Salido in the first fight. Not even kidding here.

Salido isn't the Salido anymore from that night and Loma has progressed since then.
With all the fouling and coming in massively overweight, Salido almost lost and took a beating in the 12th after Loma figured him out.
Can't see this go into the championship rounds this time around.

Maybe, but I always like to see boxers try to avenge defeats so it makes sense.

If he doesn't rematch Salido he will be heavily penalized by historians as well as myself. **** a business decision. The message sent is that he doesn't want to go through that again.

WARLANDO SALIDO HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED BEFORE. AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED? HE TOOK LOMACHENKO'S 0, AND MIKEY GARCIA'S 0, AND JUANMA'S 0, AND EVERY DAY HE LAUGHS AT THEM AND HAS SEX WITH THEIR WIVES!

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU DISRESPECT WARLANDO, CUCKOLDS, OR YOUR WIVES WILL BE NEXT!

No. Salido is still at the top, just short of the elite class in boxing today. Salido is also a horrific stylistic matchup for Loma and has a win over a novice version - but despite Loma's adjustments, Lomachenko has not faced someone with Salido's style.

If Loma does indeed dominate Salido the way people are predicting, I won't be 'suspecting' he's one of the very best ever anymore, I'll believe that without an element of doubt.

This is definatly a step back but fukk it he wants this one to right some wrong, many people moan about Boxers not avenging a defeat, and to be fair he has gone pro and jumped right in at the deep end, he has bypassed about 5 years worth of rising up the rankings fighting fodder he would demolish. Hes gained 5 years and is now losing 6 months at the most on this side issue. Its fine.

Imagine if he loses again though.

Yes but it has to happen. Otherwise, some ******* down the line will say "he had Salido issues doe, Salido beats him every time".

Loma knows this too, but he will stick wreck Salido just to fix that undeserved blemish on his spectacular record.

Salildo would get KO'd by Lomachenko's two previous opponents, and they would do it probably inside of six or seven rounds. So yeah, Salido at this point, even older, and more shopworn, is a step back. Beating Salido, still wouldn't erase that blemish on Lomachenko's record. He should move on.

Is this a mantra you apply to all fighters then? Can i see your posts heavily penalizing Hagler, Bhop & Pac for not avenging an early loss too then?
