Is Sam Langford the most under rated heavyweight of all time head to head?

If Choysnki hit that hard, how come he could not KO Corbett or Fitz? Choynski lacks a lot of Ko's for such a big puncher. Sure he can hit, but the records tell a different tale.

You think Willard hit harder than Godfrey, Wills, Fulton, McVey, et al? Ok fair enough. But I still think you are making a ****** out of yourself with the digs at Langford's durability.

Just a quick observation. Gunboat Smith, who was considered the best of the white hopes, stopped many of his opponents with a blow aimed at the back of the head. This was legal at the time.

As for the Corbett-Fitzsimmons-Jeffries era, if you study reports of the day, it begins to dawn on you that there was very little real competition around amongst "heavyweights". Kid McCoy was a heavy welterweight, Joe Choynski was a large middleweight and Bob Fitzsimmons was at most a lightheavyweight. The best of the big guys, like Ruhlin and Sharkey were just a step above bar-room brawlers where actual skill is concerned. The heavyweight pool of good fighters over 180 pounds was extremely shallow.

Choynski had the curse of a lot of big punchers, he did not weather big shots any to well himself.
I have Janitor, telling me to disregard records when it suits him ,and rely on testimony from those that were there,and you advising me to take notice of records, and make then the benchmark atsch

Jim Jeffries stated Choynski hit him harder than anyone.And he fought Fitz.

Johnson and Fitz , etc concurred.They fought him, I take their word over your supposition.
I think Willard hit harder than Wills as hard as Fulton ,McVey, Smith,
, maybe harder. Smith said he was a terrific hitter, he took out two of Johnson's teeth with one left,and killed Bull Young with one right hand.

Godfrey was a novice when he fought Langford, even Janitor who is my adversary int his argument, had sense enough not to include him in the equation.

Sonny Liston failed to ko 179 lbs Marty Marshall, two out of three times, he must be a powder puff puncher eh?
Anyone else stop Corbett in his prime?
My digs are at statements that Langford had an anvil chin I dispute this.
Duarabilty is one thing, a chin of iron is another.
