People seem to hate on Sam Peter for his condition. Is it really bad, due to laziness, or are we being too harsh on the man?

I think it comes down to discipline and commitment for both Peter and his team. While it is true that he can perform at this weight..... If he were around the 245 mark he would perform better IMO

Genetics. I still think he could train better, but he is never going to be lean.

He has an unusual bone structure if you look at him. He has an enormous ribcage, but his chest if very narrow, but then his shoulders are very thick. He has a definite Endomorphic bodytype, naturally is going to have a higher bodyfat %, very squarely built.

I too, believe that Sammy Peter could and should be about 240---tops..... 253 is okay, for a 6' power-puncher; but his foot speed and body movement will be slowed to a crawl..... 253 is TOO HIGH for Peter.... Just a thought...

If Klitschko proves to be stationary, as some suspect he'll be, then the 253 that Peter carries will be no biggie. If Klit proves spry and or agile, Peter's ship is sunk...

He doesnt acutally have bad endurance. Not that his output is great, but he can fight a full 12. His problem is just his size and girth, he is very heavy on his feet and any extra weight he carries makes him that much slower. He should not be weighing more than 250 for his fights.

I think he's just a naturally thick guy. He's pretty athletic, used to be a soccer player,.

You can consider that yeah he has the genetic type to be a big man.

You can also say the same about many others like george foreman, duran, tyson

But those guys always managed to come in good shape when they were young. They just showed that when they get older and dont train anymore they are natural mesomorphs.

Boxing is pretty much the number one most physically demanding sport. With all the training required, even natural mesomorphs shouldnt have bellys on them by the time they reach fight night.

Peter either isnt training right or eating right. Its a dedication problem.

He has good stamina. It might not look like he has good stamina, obviously he is rather slow when he moves, but he can sustain a reasonable pace over the course of a fight.

Thats what I mean by "lack of commitment and discipline". A normal Training camp runs 7-8 weeks. He cant control his eating for 7 weeks? Not good!
