True. But people use the wrong terminology. There are lighter fighters than Peter that carry higher ratios of fat.
my guess is his fat ratio is 15%. with a lot of discipline he could get back down to 10% again, i think.
Indeed , i am glad people have noticed that he is anything but fat.. I helped train Samuel when he first came to Las Vegas , when Kenny Adams and Steve Rowlands were conditioning him and a few others straight after the olympics.. He was completely sans fat then and i have a lot of photos to show this, Now and again i run into him between fights and he is really just very heavy set.. there is no loose hanging fat and you can't pinch any either..:good
You are a man who knows what you are talking about, so many people can't grasp body composition.. Its quite a logical science.. BMI is what Samuel should take and post on here to prove some folks wrong.... LOL He truly aint no fat boy....
Well, for the record I do indeed think that he has come in too heavy to be effective, but I am just pedantic about the way people use words.
I myself would feel a bit more comfortable if Samuel would have come in at least 245... its been a while since he mustered up the will power to drop those last 8 pounds off..
You mean bodyfat % i think, his BMI would come up as morbidly obese due to the amount of muscle he has. BMI is essentially a completely useless statistic, it is just a height to weight ratio. Peters bodyfat looks to be around 15%, which is far from fat by average person standards, but pretty sub par for a professional athlete.
Off topic, but I think Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz looks chubby for guy only 135 pounds...... AND! I also think Sam Peter is about 12 to 15 pounds too much; not too bad there..... Still, Peter could be a smidge lighter.... Peace... MR.BILL:happy
Despite George Foreman training very hard in 1994 for his title fight against Michael Moorer, George still looked fleshy at 250 pounds.... However, there can be NO DOUBT that George was in great shape for a dude age 45....... I was STOKED when Moorer hit the floor in rd. 10... MR.BILL:good
Fat Lazy ****. There is no such thing as genetically fat. Fat is due to eating too much and not burning calories.
YES! Bowe looked great at 235 pounds back in 1992..... Bowe was never the same after that initial title winning effort...
Peter has what is called an Endomorphic Body type. He is squarely built, very thick, and naturally has a higher bodyfat% than someone who is an ectomorph or mesomorph. He is never going to be ripped looking, as he does not have the build nor the fast twitch muscle fiber or the bone structure to be cut. He is naturally very strong and when he gains weight he carries it everywhere, characteristic of endomorphs. Peter does not have bad stamina, but he does not the body type for fast movement and obviously with his size he expends a lot of calories moving in the ring. He is never going to have incredibly stamina with a high workrate. In the McCline fight he demonstrated his stamina by keeping a sustained activity level into the later rounds. The problem with Peter obviously is that he does gain weight easily and it effects his mobility and he does get tired quicker because of it. So it is crucial that he eat properly and maintain and a diet I have already pointed out multiple times that Peter has an unusual bone structure that contributes to him appearing to have a reality when in reality that is not the case
