Do you think hes better than Kosta Tyszu and Yuri Arbachakov?

If he isnt he sure as hell is on his way in just a little over 2 year span he has beaten:

    Gabriel Campillo
    Nathan Cleverly (Fought in U.K)
    Ismayl Sillah
    Bernard Hopkins (Fought in USA)
    Jean Pascal (Fought in Canada)

The is quite an impressive resume those guys are talented and not pushovers. In addition to being exciting and fighting his biggest fights away from home.He has 3/4 belts if he beats Stevenson which I think he will its hard not to put him as the greatest Russian fighter of all time. Thoughts?

Well it's between him and Kostya (Arbachakov?) when it comes to the pros. There are probably greater Soviet amateur boxers though.

EDIT: Didn't see OP already mentioned the two fighters, IMO, he's just a couple wins away.

Not too many top level Russian pros, huh?

He's not at Kostya-level yet but he's probably not too far off if he stays the course for several more years.

By beating a 50-year old man, and the guy who lost to him?

Reading this educated me nothing but was kind of like getting water violently thrown on your face... haha.

Hmm... Nonetheless, my statement stands. More to do with Kostya being pretty weak for a "BEST FIGHTER IN A NATION'S HISTORY" then to do with Kovalev being an almighty legendary God from above, or anything.

potentially he could be but hes a little late to get going, and frankly it wouldn't be difficult for a future Russian progidy to eclipse him.

Kovalev is a legend though, he's a fckin star.

Russian fighters couldn't go pro when they were behind the iron curtain so it's unsurprizing Kostya's rated as the best of them.

Didn't Kostya get beaten in his prime, by a well known crack addict? It is between Kov, and GGG, if you accept that Kazakhstan was part of the Soviet Union when he was born. They didn't declare independence until 1991.

Even if it was part of the Soviet Union, it was never part of Russia, it was a Soviet republic.
