Right. But since he was born in a Latin american country it does make him white and hispanic.

just like an American black dude like mayweather or hopkins wouldn't; but a guy like miranda, gamboa, rigo would dedicate to latinos. .

martinez is smart - he knows the biggest boxing demographic fanbase in USA is latino. . so he wants to get all the mexican-americans on his back. . .

Gamboa is black, cuban, and latino; martinez is white, argentinean, and latino.

Exactly. That question has no answer because whiteness is socially constructed and varies across space and time.

Decades ago, the Irish and Italians were not considered white by any stretch of the imagination.

Martinez is white in his own country, but were he to travel here, he would not be treated as the equivalent of a domestic white American/European. Globally, whiteness is tied to dominant cultural norms. There is no objective "white" because race isn't objectively real; it's a social construction that uses both cultural and phenotypical associations to classify social groups.

    That's pretty spot on.:good

A good example of this is ethnic Chinese poeple that live in Thailand are considered "white people" by the much darker indiginous Thais.

Of course. The simple answer really is that he is a white latino, plenty of them I have seen before. Its not uncommon at all.

Have the "race s a social construct" bitches shown up yet?

That would be a great question to ask Martinez, if he consideres himself white. I would do it in a heartbeat, rating's gold...

Then I would ask Chisora if he considers himself himan.
