Exactly, I agree whole heartedly. White here in the US doesn't mean the same thing in Europe, as people from Europe have gone through many ethnic migrations, wars, languages, etc. Someone could say they are of Spanish decent, but what if their Spanish ancestors have Jewish ancestors, or French relatives, or ties to Moors. Race and ethnicity don't have clear boundaries are subject to change. It's good for measuring and understanding relationships at a micro and sometimes micro level, but it doesn't produce anything inherent about the person.

 

Depends what you consider white race. Are Spanish, Greek, Italian, Portugees considered white ? If yes then he is white, if not then he is not.
