No not at all.. He hits harder and there styles are different.. In my opinion he is already at least Joes equal.. By the time his career is over i think he will be more highly regarded.

i'm glad you think so highly of your comments. byrd has denied they fought. don't know why he would lie either. the only links that i see about hopkins turning down the fight are on message boards. that's why i asked for a link, i know how to google. calzaghe is a bigger fighter than martinez but i don't agree with anything else you listed. i also don't know what's so hard to understand about a fighter being 43 and not being in their prime but sometimes i forget on what site i'm on.

Joe was lackluster for the first ten years of his career also. Paul Spadafora is also undefeated, it takes more than polishing off a few bums to be considered a great fighter.

How the **** do you know? How many great fighters who were near prime did Joe beat? I count one, and its a stretch to call Kessler "great". Who knows if he could beat a guy like Williams or Pavlik. By your reasoning George Foreman would beat any and all heavyweights because he easily handled Frasier.

You sad sad twat, to take somebody elses comment and make a thread about it :-(. Without the rest of us knowing the whole sentence and what the context was, it is wrong just to take a phrase of someone elses and try and make a thread about it. Twat

Lovin how everybody still diggin Calzaghe, even the haters can't stop thinking about him. They need to recognise the guy had one of the toughest styles to beat. Look what Hopkins was reduced to against him, and look how great he's looked since. His resume does not do him justive, stylistically he was a nightmare for anyone

What is wrong with that? :huh

I am a big Martinez fan and I would like to know if other people share this view.

The guy did say it, I didn't make it up. If he has the courage of his convictions, he won't mind at all that I have put his opinion out there for debate. If you look back on this thread, I don't think the guy does mind. He just defends his p-o-v. Good on him. You seem to be the only one minding.
