Herman wasn't "so great", though he was a very good BW, one of the best of his day. You don't see him on many top 100 lists because he's not top 100 for one, and for two, how many top 100 lists do you see? I don't rate him above Shane, but if McGrain does, he put Shane around 180, so obviously you wouldn't see Herman that high unless you've seen many top 200 lists.

Are you prioritising resume? If so doesn't that make Greb #1 - a fighter you have never seen?

I judge on a wide range of issues. You seem to be interested in skills.

Lopez burries Shane for skills. He's a class above. He doesnt' have a great resume, but he's also unbeaten.

Unbeaten + spectacular on film = a very high ranking.

But things are rarely so simple, we can agree upon that. I could well be wrong about Mosley. I know I don't have him in my 100. It's possible he could have poped up as high as 115 which would only put him 20 odd places below where you feel he belongs.

Are you dissapointed with my ranking of Shane? I think he's one of the top 10 fighters of our current era. Not having film of Herman and guys like that puts them on hold for me unless they have an overwhelming resume, or if I've done a fair amount of research on them.

Greb´s resume speaks for itself nobody can argue his greatness.who did Herman beat that was so good if you just base your choce on the fact that he was a two time bantam champ thats pretty weak.

200 MAN lists is crazy town. I don't think you could do it properly unless you were working at it full time, ditched your girl and quit drinking.

Not up for any of that.

    Yet.

    Well, research is the key.

RIddle me this though - don't you find that anyone who spends a great deal of time researching a fighter ends up overestimating them? Think Janitor with Dempsey. He obsesses over Dempsey and now considers him close to #1 h2h...it's very difficult.

He might just scrape into my top ten too. You have him below Trinidad though, right? Did Trinidad make your fifty?

Yes. Shane Mosley is an all time great. He was a real monster at lightweight and could have mixed it up with any of the greats in that class. His first battle with De La Hoya was epic and he deserves props for always taking the toughest fights - even to his detriment. He fought both Forrest and Wright when no one else wanted to get near them with a 12 foot pole.

His big wins were over Kid Williams and Joe Lynch. These guys are not top 200 material, but they were very very good. Nor are they names your are likely to hear on a boxing forum. Low weight, little film, little glamour. That doesn't make them worse. You do your best with what you have or you don't get into making long lists.

It seems he was a cracking infighter with serious savy, impossible to discourage, brave as a lion.

He's no Greb resume wise. But who is?

I dont' insists that he is above Mosley (though I would have done a couple of months back!) but I do insist that...frankly, if you don't know about him, there are going to be plenty of other champs that you don't know about who were great fighters. Which probably explains the distance between our respective ratings.

He did look great. That's because he is great.

The Carbajal Gonzalez problems were by no means one-sided as far as I am concered.

I'd agree with what you're saying, and you know how I disagree with guys of the early 1900's in head to head terms. Words are words, and can be convincing, but when footage is available, it's hard to see.

As far as Tito, no, he didn't make my top 50 at all. De La Hoya actually did though, at least on the last one I made. I am sticking to a top 35 at the moment, and am constantly revising it. I'll get to the higher numbers in time.

As far as stopping drinking, no can do, not right now. The *****? **** her.

ive seen most of Lopez fights and he didnt look better than the pre-Forrest Mosley.on skills Lopez probably is top 50 but if you also go by his resume he isnt.i guess we will never agree on that.

High rating for Oscar...I suppose it can be justified, I think I had him around 70. My highest active rated fighter was Jones. Then Floyd. It might interest you to know that Whitkaer is creeping up my list. Might hit the 20 yet.

He beat Oscar by SD the first time, by 2 rounds imo, and he beat Oscar in a HIGHLY contreversial fight the second time where most think to date that Oscar should have won. What we can't ignore that he was JUICED up for the rematch so that even takes even more away from the alreadt contrevesial fight. So yeah, he beat Oscar once and got the GIFT of his life the second time.

Ok he beat Oscar in the first by 2 points in ur opinion whats wrong with that ? 2 points was basically everyones opinion coming out of that fight and it was a clear 2 points ive met noboddy who thinks DLH won or even deserved a draw. Shane Mosley was the first person to actually get a true win over Oscar. True we now know Shane was juiced in the rematch but honestly he beat Oscar the same way he did the 1st time and thats outhustled him down the stretch and Mosleys always ALWAYS been good down the stretch I dont think the Juice helped him much cause that wasnt one of Shanes more impressive victories both guys fought like **** compared to 2000. Also most pro fighters at ringside scored the bout for Mosley he was landing the clean punches.

Vargas was not even half of what he was, Collazo, solid B guy, Molina, eh, Diaz? Julio Diaz is much better but it's not going to gurantee Juan Pollo Valenzuela a spot on the ATG list, Leija, nice win sure why not.

Vargas had just clearly beat Ray Joval and Javier Castejllo within a year of the first Mosley fight and Javier and Joval are better then Shanes oppostion in Jose Cruz and David Estrada (which Shane didnt look to hot in either) heading into that fight considering Joval is top 10 currently in Ring Magazines Middleweight rankings and Castejllo scored a KO win over Felix Sturm in July 2006. Agreed Collazo solid B guy who Shane made look pretty worthless,Molina was a mutiple time World Champ,Julio Diaz your right is a better p4p fighter then Antonio Diaz in their primes but dont compare a very young and not yet accomplished Julio Diaz losing to a journeymen with Antonio Diaz coming off a hot 25 fight win streak including wins over Cory Spinks,Micky Ward,Emmanuel Augustus,Ivan Robinson,Omar Weis,James Crayton and Ahmad Santos before losing easily to Shane Mosley.

Mayorga beat Piccirilo who IMO is better than Diaz, Holliday and Collazo, and Mayorga was robbed against Spinks, not to mention he beat Forrest twice in his prime (who beat SSM twice in his prime) and also beat Vargas.

Vargas beat Winky who owns Mosley, beat Marquez, Campas, Quartey and many top contenders from Castillejo to Flores.

You have a weak case in saying Vargas and Mayorga are not ATG but Mosley is

Piccirilo is arugablly better then Antonio Diaz,Holliday,Collazo but ur talking about 1 good fighter compared to 3 others sorry bro that doesnt do much for a resume. Mayorga yes was given a raw deal in the Spinks but its not like he really out fought him just Spinks was allowed to "slip" 5 times, run away over and over agian while Mayorga was warned and deducted points. Mosley should gotten the nod over Cotto but it is what it is its still a loss on his record and Cottos alot better then Spinks and Mosley took it to Cotto the last half of the fight Mayorga did very little. You mention Vargas on Mayorgas resume but you just made urself look even more like a jackass considering u mentioned Vargas was a shell of himself when he fought Mosley well hmm ok what does that make Vargas 10 pounds and 2 brutal losses later ? Does that make him rejuvenated or something ? Ok Vargas beat Winky who owns Mosley thats cool but Mosley owns Vargas and owns ODLH who KOed a roided up Vargas and we know roids is a big deal to u. Vargas and Mosleys resume is dam close considering Mosley beat at elite fighter in Oscar twice while Vargas beat 2 elites and both have several good wins over B level fighters but guess what Mosley owned Vargas both times they fought blowing his eye up and putting him to sleep a few months later. My case is weak ? You controdicted urself like 4 times.
