This is all true but who says Mosley jab has to be the best in the buisness to beat Floyd? I think too much is being made out of ODLH's mild success using it. Shane certainly has a good enough jab to get off first and disrupt Floyds timing. Shane is definetely too straight up for my liking but I think his reach advantage will keep out out of harms way for the most part.

i think it depends on how maywather is positioned and what clean punches he lands

if for instance he jumps in with a left hook that lands clean...shane WILL feel the effects of it ...

if he jumps in and out with the straight right like he did in te first 6 rounds of the baldmir fight then i think that is also a punch shane will be wobbled or sidetracked by

i think floyd could have stopped marquez if he wanted to but i think he preferred to get the rounds in and get as sharp as he could..

The premise of this question is flawed. Floyd never relied on power or even relentless output to keep fighters honest. He's a master of defense. You can be on the outside, in the pocket or right up in his chest and he avoids getting hit.

    Floyd avoids.

He's fast on his feet, rolls punches and has superior reflexes and awareness.

Mosley needs accuracy, smart aggression and defense. Of everyone Floyd has fought, Shane seems to have the capability to solve Mayweather.

    Gonna be a great fight.

Too many fighters have fallen to Floyd assuming

Were we watching the same fight? Because JMM was hesitant to throw punches because he kept getting punished when he did.

    Mayweather has respectable power.

I think Nazim is gonna advise Shane to make this a dirty dirty fight. Similar to the way Hatton fought him, only shane is much stronger and has a better chin.

I just don't see Shane boxing him, and pressuring Floyd WITHOUT holding will get him countered on the inside. I think they will employ a hit and hold strategy, ugly the fight up and hope to physically drain Mayweather (similar to Hatton vs Tszyu)

    They'll be banking on:
    1. Floyd fighting defensive - This way Shane is able to get off first
    2. Shane being quick enough to throw one or two and then get chest to chest before counters come
    3. Shane being able to outmuscle Floyd and wear him down
    4. The ref not penalizing shane for it

Some also argue that you gat to put more weight on your back foot to throw punches ( read Hopkins in his articles on "The Ring") but I don't think so cause what they really mean is about body balance and don't come stumbling in head first ( just like Hatton did).

It's obvious that Floyd will circle on the back move and make most use of reaction time and super concentration to catch a man like Mosley a lil bit out of position with a countemove on the fly... No, he has a different case here compared to Hatton and Hoya in which concerns to speed and improvisational movement or countermovement.

Not really walk through but certainly will not stop him from attacking. Floyds fans make too much of a big deal about the Osacr fight as if they haven't seen it a million times. Oscar did not have it anymore, had he sustained what he did on the first round, it would have been an easy UD for Osacr.

It's so funny how people twist things with Mayweather. JMM comes off 3 of the greatest performances of his career and is un-arguably top 2 P4P. Granted he was much smaller, but Floyd completely outclassed him and beat him by outboxing him. JMM has all intentions to go in and pressure Floyd, early on, very early on, Floyd puts him in check and JMM realizes he CANNOT do what he wanted. After the fight, people say JMM didn't fight the right fight  They say nothing about how "Floyd DIDN'T LET HIM fight the right fight"

Again, people really realize Mayweather won't be there when Shane sets em up. I really don't expect him to come pressing on Shane like he did to Judah so it's Mayweather on the back pedal definitely - this is colective knowledge what we're making here on ESB! Let's see who r the judges giving the rounds to when Mayweather dances, rolls, circles away most of the time.

People forget Shane Mosley has a reach and height advantage on lil' Floyd.

Also, not the greatest but he's got a jab that will have to be effective in his attack against Floyd, and I expect him to work of the jab with right hands to the body and such.

Shane Mosley is in no danger of being stopped by Floyd, who couldn't stop a lightweight like JMM.
Mosley would obliterate JMM at 147lbs.

I expect Mosley to be smart in his attacks, and keep investing in the body, I actually believe he'll win a pretty clear decision.

People just don't want to give Mayweather absolute credit. Some of that is Mayweathers fault and some of it isn't.

He fought a great fight that night and he could of stopped JMM if he wanted to. He came off a long layoff and he needed rounds under his belt. Blasting opponents out after a layoff does nothing for you.

Mayweather VS Mosley is a great fight and if mayweather wins he is the man at welterweight.

Mosley got out jabbed and was kept at bay by a smaller Cotto. He's jab was pretty ineffective in that fight.

Mayweather is a completely different beast and Mosley's jab is no better than De la Hoya's whose jab was ruled ineffective after 6 rounds.

Problem with fighting Mayweather is that your game plan goes out the window after a few rounds, you need a boxer with excellent in ring intelligence that can adapt easily but that's also part of the problem with boxers adapting their style to fight him they aren't fighting there own fight.
