He beat him twice - so what difference does it make.

Mosley's not overrated. You may say Mosley hasn't done anything special - but look at his resume' since the first De la Hoya fight:

    ODL - Twice
    Forrest - Twice
    Wright - Twice
    Vargas - Twice
    Collazo
    Cotto

I'm missing a No Contest in there.

On top of that - he's still fighting decent competition - if he's going to fight Judah and he's 36. So, I would say he's not overrate or underrate - just give him his props. One of the best Sportsmen that this Sport has ever seen.:deal

Dog, I know Mosley was special. Those days are long over. They ended with Forrest.

Tell who has Mosley beat? How did he beat them?

Tell me what fight in the last 5-7 years makes him P4P? Because many of you had him on your top 10 P4P list as recent as Nov last year and some still have him there.

You went from asking if he was overrated - to asking about his P4P status.

You can't change up your arguement in the middle of the arguement. That's a new Thread. :patsch

He is a bit overrated in an All Time sense. He is a borderline ATG really. Certainly not top 100 on his actual accomplishments. H2H at LW he is a beast, and in a sense, he is a fighter's fighter. Props for that. But outside of DLH, not much on his resume but a shot Vargas.

    :patsch x100 to you.

P4P and Overrated are often associated.

He is overrated because people still consider him top 10 P4P numbnuts!!!!:nut

Overrated? With the body of his career being the evidence, if anything, the man is underrated. he never backed down from a challenge, won most, was competitive in all. that is the mark of a true P4P great..taking on all comers. Think how ironic it is..he fought DLH when DLH was peak or jsut a tad past it..then grants/accepts a rematch...FMJ is jsut doing this Now! hE ALSO FOUGHT COTTO..F'IN COTTO FOR GODS SAKE....In the twilight of his career....and took him 12....FMJ is busy selling a hatton fight to the public, the waiting a year to give ODL a rematch...Mosley=underrated.

But he didn't win most. That's how he gets overrated because of what you just said. He did take on all comers yes, and he deserves respect for that. But he lost to Cotto, Forrest (2x), and Wright (2x). No he didn't have to fight them...but when he did, he lost. We don't rate fighters on guts....if we did, Gatti would rate astoundingly high.

Smack yourself - cause the key work is OFTEN - not ALWAY - you nimcumpoop!

I know the coversation is all in fun - but I'm one of those guys that doesn't assume - I just go off the question that's being asked - and you asked about being Overrated - but then changed it to P4P. Overrated being for this whole career - P4P being now. So, which question are you asking? Cause right now - you're asking two different questions. It's the reason you're getting two different arguement in here homie.

yes...good points all...but from my slant...he gets credit for the fights no one else wanted.....I mean..i really did not expect him to beat Cotto..jsut like no one really expected Tyson to beat Lewis (shell of himself)..but props to SSM for taking the fight and being competitive. I was shocked at the Forest losses, and, Winky, well, he is a tuff egg to crack....all the greats have losses. well, most (RM). Fact is, i was more shocked with the Forest lost (1) than with the tarver KO of RJJ. Now, my point is that he is underrated because of the losses, your point is he is overrated because of the same thing. No right or wrong..but, if there was...you would be wrong:yep :yikes

Well I guess it depends on what you're looking at. As a fighter, he is underrated. The attributes we want to see in a fighter, that we hope for, Mosley possesses in spades.

Achievement wise, in an ATG sense, he falls short. He is often propped up because of the above. His fighters mentality earns him respect, and it should. But I can't factor that in when I rate him.

I know what you mean about his opponents, but I don't think he is overrated, he has fought Forrest (twice), Winky (twice), Vargas, Cotto and Collazo. He did not won many of them it's true, but saying he is overrated and one dimensional, don't think so.
