yes i watched the lovermore fight, in fact after that fight i realised cotto didnt like durable fighters that are able to push him with their pace, but i think cotto is better then back then... anyways, the fight is the fight... he beat oscar, i dont think the second oscar fight was a gift, but i could def see it going eather way depending. Hes only lost to what.. 3 fighters? winky, forrest, and cotto? i dont know man.... i have oscar and tito above him, but i dont see how mosley can be overlooked as a real real good fighter, who could hold his own against anyone 154 and below in his day.
I think Mosley did himself a disservice by not stopping in the 140 division and taking out KT, who I think he could have beaten because of his pressure and speed. He isn't like Judah, and would have been difficult to handle. If he had, he would have a better resume. Of course, then he may not have fought DLH......
i do see his point... even though he beat him, shane isnt on oscars level... or titos, on accomplishments, and hes not THAT skilled, and i can see how someone could think hes one dimensional, that being said... with all that, hes still, or was, a great fighter and i think hes thought of exactly how he is. I dont think most people put him above oscar or tito...
De La Hoya was a pretty active fighter when Mosley beat him in 2000. He fought 3 times in 1999, and the Mosley fight in June 2000 was his 2nd bout of 2000. Not like post-Hopkins when Oscar has fought like once a year. I agree that Mosley to an extent is overrated. Maybe it's his speed and style, maybe it's because he has a likeable personality. I had to laugh at the memory-impaired boxing fans who kept yapping "my god, Mosley is the classiest, most gracious guy in defeat" after the Cotto fight. Wow, he was gracious after one close defeat. Wanna get into his comments after his other 4 losses, or the admitted drug use (after SI outed him)?
No, he dominated his opponents at lightweight. He didn't dominate the division, because he didn't face the best lightweights at the time. If you're going to dominate a division, you have to beat the top guys in that division. Mosley beat ONE of them, in Holiday.
Don't bring your gay obssesion over Cotto overhere. This is in response to the few threads about Mosley that were made today. Show me where Mosley's greatness besides beating DLH has been?:deal
Wow, agenda much? You somehow go through your post without giving any credit whatsoever to Mosely for coming two weight classes up to beat DLH. On top of that, save the part time b.s. DLH cut an album, but he was full time fighter. That time off was nothing different from any other fighters time off. NOW, he is a part time fighter.
