Along with the respect angle, given that the fight has been criticized as a mismatch, it's just bad business for Floyd to denegrate JMM. Playing the villain this time just isn't the right route to go. Even if he respected his opponent, history would indicate, he'd play the role for promotional purposes. But it just doesn't work here. Hence, no trash talk.
has anyone ever noticed no matter how much pre fight trash he talks he always is the first to congradulate his opponents and tell them what a great fighter they are,he dont get enough credit on here for being a professional, marquez is a class act as well.
Mayweather has said he respect Marquez but I also believes he needs to be focused because of the long lay off. No time for cockyness or arrogance he needs to get the job done so he can be in a great position to see the outcome of Pac V Cotto. Either fight will be great for boxing in general.
I think the way Nacho has gone about Floyd is the way you want a trainer to go about Floyd in a fight like this, other trainers have come in thinking Floyd is going to be a walk in the park and have failed in thinking that way, Honestly its a sign of respect and that means Nacho knows this is a tuff fight, and has more than likely trained his fighter for this challenge in other words he has taken this fight serious. and in 24/7 his expression of his fighter not being fast enough does not mean his fighter isnt ready it basicly means we need to work harder and not for one second be satisfied with the work we have put in, in other words the we need to be better approach IMO is always much better than the we are going to destroy him attitude. I have watched the pre fight show they have airing on Dish Net and Marquez has basicly said we are training hard to win this fight by knock out. I think he is taking this extremly serious he knows and nacho knows where a win would put both of them...... Floyds recent attitude change I just dont understand it, I really think he is seeing that he needs to re invent his charector as the way he had been acting turned off alot of potential fans, I think this is why we are seeing this side of Mayweather I also think another good reason we are seeing this side of Mayeather is cus he knows Marquez is very capable and it has shown in his recent fights along with his two fights with Pacquiao who does have faster hands heavier hands and a much higher work rate..... Floyds no idiot this is a tuff fight, why he took it I dont know but my hats off to him, he could have come back and fought a string bean and gotten away with it but he chose Marquez instead and I cant help but respect that.
He's trying to sell the fight by saying good things about Marquez. He didn't need to do that against Hatton with his legions of fans or De La Hoya who was boxing's Golden Boy. If he fights Pacquiao next, you'll see the "old Floyd".
PBF likes and respects JMM that's why he hasn't trash talked him like he did with Gatti, Hatton or Oscar.
Thats becuase Gatti, Hatton and Delahoya had something that Floyd hasnt had yet, a huge fan base that would be willing to travel around the world to see them fight..... Thats why he hates on them guys
That's because he feels slighted by the Pac he feels he's still P4P #1. I agree he will trash Pac if he beats Cotto.
LOL it's probably because he knows that he's gonna get trashed by the Marquez fans. Also, I think he wants to be liked by fans. I mean c'mon! Right now, he is trying make everyone think that he likes to help people.
Probaby some truth in that but with Oscar it was about him getting big paydays with Gatti the same as well plus the fan supprt. With Hatton it was more about him ducking him at 140 denying him a shot at his linear title when he was there.
