The reason i said that cause it shows easily that he's scared to fight Rios. Arum was trying very hard to make Rios vs Soto but Soto chicken out like a si$$y. Soto then after that move up in weight to avoid a fight with Rios at lightweight. Soto is a disgrace piece of sh$t mexican fighter. He ain't a warrior, he's more of chicken sh$t coward.

He isn''t a disgrace, he is just "not cool", so we don't root for him that much, only local "sinaloenses" back him up I think

Aztecas "Soto deserves a big money fight. His fight vs c level fighters were close cause Soto does it on purpose to make fighters like Pacquiao, Marquez fool so they will fight Soto thinking Soto ain't nothing."

Sad because if you rewatch that Antillon vs Soto fight, Antillon won that fight. Uncle Bob made sure Soto got the decision so then Top Rank could sway him to resign with them.

He's one of my favorite fighters to watch right now. I agree, he's aesthetically superb. Great thread.

Really? I thought it was clear Soto won that fight. I might have to re-watch it.

You don't deserve to call yourself a boxing fan. Pathetic.

  10. It's amazing just how many ill-informed so-called boxing fans are on this board. Sad that they read so little.

I was just watching that fight, Soto was tagging Antillon hard the first couple rounds I saw. Soto is a really good fighter and I enjoy watching him. I wonder why they moved him up to 140....

I think his career might be coming to a close with this move. Soto did not look all that great at LW, fighting Diaz. We'll have to see who he's fighting at 140.

Gonna watch the rest of the fight now

Aztecas will strongly disagree. Soto ducks no one.

Rounds 1-5 I scored for Soto easy. Round 6 was Antillon's, and so was round 7 till he got brutalized by many many powershots. He was about to go all through the end of that round. Round 8 was really either way with Soto landing the crisper punches buckling Antillon with a short left hook at the start. But Antillon was doing his little walk forward, butt and shoulder push while swinging. Round 9 Soto takes most of the round off, but lands a huge left hook with :41 s left, Soto then starts a flurry landing two nasty left uppercuts staggering Antillon at :23 s. Soto continues banging to the body as Antillon is still staggered, rounds a draw. Round 10 Soto 20 seconds in lands a sweet right uppercut while circling to his left, at 1:30 Soto lands a sold 1-2 at which point Antillon begins an assault on Soto's body landing a few effective shots. With 23 seconds remaining Soto throws a right, 3 left uppercuts, followed by 3 huge left hooks staggering Antillon. Soto goes for the kill landing a right, left uppercut, left hook, right uppercut, left uppercut combination, sending the challenger to the ropes. Round 11 Soto staggers Antillon all throughout the round, and the challenger has no feet underneath him. The last round Antillon lands a few solid headshots, but Soto flurries back at the end, round for Antillon.

Antillon won 3 rounds MAX, at no point did I see Antillon hurt Soto. Soto played the boxer beautifully, landing so many crisp headshots. Seriously what other boxer do you see that uses lateral movement like Soto. I love that move, duck right, left hook spin, duck left, right hand, spin ala Orlando Canizales. Reminds me why I like watching La Zorrita so dam much.

** Only thing interesting thing about this fight is the BS scores 115-112, and 114-113 114-113 REALLY?! All that tells me is is that Arum is using this Antillon guy as cannon fodder. He has no defense, no real power, but is all action and easy to hit.... No wonder they fed him to this Rios guy that everyone including me saw last night.

PS - Soto looks a lot smaller than Antillon at 135, but its really good to see that Soto still packs power at LW.
