Modestly talented in the day but his best win is over Sosa who put him on his ass HARD twice. Sosa hit him so hard I thought Spaddy was going to get decapitated. Then Sosa sleepwalked through the rest of the bout. On one positive note I do think the Dorin draw was a n actual draw. During the build up to the Gatti fight HBO built up like Dorin dominated Spadafora but I thought it was a close competitive bout. But then again this was Dorin who should have lost to Raul Balbi so...
Record and resume wise he is nearly as accomplished as Joe Calzaghe. He has stronger fundamentals and has more boxing skills than Joe does. I've been waiting to see if he can regain his pre prison form.
Guy was a decent lightweight, had a good following, I think out of Pittsburgh? Though he never accomplished much due to his troubles. Now he's a washed up has been and if Floyd is seriously contemplating making this fight and hoping to pass it off as a legitimate fight, he's really sunken to the lowest he can go
He hasnt had a notable win over a ranked guy in 9 years and that was at lightweight. He has no chance against mayweather today. Back then, he had a chance though he still would have probably lost. He has looked ordinary since coming back and has done nothing to deserve a big fight. Hes not even ranked in the top 50.
Spadafora is 35 years of age and hardly in TOP100 -fighter. I understand that Floyd needs a tune-up but this is really, really playing it safe. Who´ll pay to see this fight?
For the record he didn't really DOMINATE floyd in sparring. They were going at it on even terms at first, and then floyd tired and started getting outworked. Spaddy was prepping for a fight and floyd was not in shape (I believe he was having promotional issues and had a brief layoff). I would say they went at it and Spaddy got the upper hand. Either way, he was a good b level fighter about 8-10 years ago. Have not seen any of his recent fights but he was being trained by Sweet Pea for awhile.
He was a good fighter but he is not near as good as he was drugs and alcohol messed him up. Would have loved to seen the fight 10 years ago at 135.....
Spaddy got his ass kicked big time by Leonard Dorin back in the day, somehow got a hometown cooked draw. He was pretty good but not enough to be a threat to Floyd back then, imagine now !
I'm going to enjoy laughing in your face when that ***** appearing in your avatar gets KTFO by Wlad. :hi:
He WAS talented back in the day, had **** athletic ability but made up for it with his technique. This fight would've maybe made sense 13 years ago
