Hagler had far more skill than Eubank, no comparison I think Duran would of beaten Eubank at middle.

Benn wasn`t a skillful fighter he was a come forwards brawler who had a great punch at middle but was slightly harder to hit at SMW.

    McCallum was greater against Watson.

Benn was easier to hit at middle and used to gas and Eubank couldn`t hurt Collins in their rematch his right hand was sloppy and the fact that he caught Collins with it in their first meeting proves you can`t call Collins great there were and are far better defensive fighters, GGG would outclass all of these Brits in their prime!

No. The Eubank wins are excellent ones but the Benn wins were pretty much worthless because Benn was completely shot (not that i rule out Collins could beat him in his prime), but overall Benn and Eubank achieved more and have better resumes.

When I see threads like this, and I read the opinions of people much more knowledgeable than myself, it makes me beg the question:
At Middleweight, and also at SuperMiddle, rate these guys 1, 2, 3 (or 4, if we include Watson).
I was quite young then, but it was a good era in those weight classes for us Brits. If you disagree, then you cannot deny it was exciting.

Mccallum best the carp out of Collins.
Eubank dropped Collins and then paused .
    Prime Eubank stops Collins .
    Benn runs over Collins.

Yes and no, Benn was spent after McClellan and Eubank not the same after Watson, all that said i still think Collins would have been a challenge for both guys regardless.

While Eubank and Benn weren't Prime, the same could be said of Collins. I think Eubank likely beats Collins both in their Prime, he was simply a class above. Benn, not so much, and I think Collins beats him regardless of when they fought.

    1. Eubank
    2. Benn
    3. Collins
    4. Watson

Not a lot between any of them.

-Eubank beat Benn amd Watson at middle, beat Watson at super middle and drew with Benn
-Collins beat Eubank and Benn at super middle
    -Watson beat Benn at middle

Eubank's best wins were over Benn and Watson (the second fight particularly). After that, Eubank lost his killer instinct.

Benn's greatest win was obviously over McClellan but he deserves credit for the draw against Eubank.

Collins beat Eubank and Benn when they were both on the slide - good names to beat but neither close to their best.

Watson's win over Benn was an excellent scalp and from what I remember (relying on my memory from 27 years ago here) he deserved the nod in the first fight against Eubank. He was only 4 minutes from definite victory in the second fight before that career ending injury.

I’d favor Hagler and many others (RJJ in particular) over Eubank in part because he showed such weakness in mental warfare against Collins.

Stevie completely psyched him out by saying he had been hypnotized and Eubank couldnt’ see through a simple parlor trick. It’s like falling for the thing where your uncle pulls a quarter from behind your ear and you as a kid don’t realize it was in his hand the whole time.
