What’s his best performance? I haven’t seen much of stiverne aside from the Arreola, wilder, and Austin fights.

In Arreola 1, he wrecks Chris' nose, making him gunshy, and dictates the pace with a heavy jab.

In Arreola 2, Chris really came to win, but Stiverne put him away after landing a skillfull counter right.

He showed heart and chin in the Wilder fight. He was done after that and it's a shame we didn't see him get to fight Breazeale, Chisora, Povetkin, Helenius, etc. He also was a good amature.

I just re read the op's post and yes we are talking about current Stiverne not prime..

Current Stiverne had no business even fighting let alone challenging for a title..

He would be right up there in worst fighter challenging for a title..

“We” weren’t talking about anything until you piped up in a convo you weren’t part of.

Ferguson and Dokes were completely shot when they challenged Bowe for the title, Ferguson got knocked out by Bruno in one round after fighting Bowe.

yeah both guys with more respected records though, which is wild consider ferguson never got to be champ. but yeah stiverne isn't the worst, in terms of skills or record. far from it if we really go look at it. so many guys who never could beat chris arreola got a shot at some hw title at some point.

and Stiverne was a belt holder, and a multi-time world title challenger. plus some amateur accomplishments accord to other posters. tho i will only refer to the bryan fight as a title fight under duress, he challenged for the vacant belt against arreola and he "challenged" wilder in the rematch.

as far as boxing careers go honestly way way way above average. i do hope he retires he obv trained harder for this fight than wilder 2 and lost to a guy who was coming off a long inactivity and who nobody sees as a legit champion. maybe

Bowe was really ctiticised for fighting Dokes and Fergie, niether fighter had a big win in years leading up to those blow outs, Lewis was far better than those two fighters at the time and thee were other fighters around that were far better too.

Here's Stiverne beating down Price when it meant something and taking gold in a tournament that also included Helenius:

You should read the comments I was responding to. Maybe tell them to go back and address the OP topic like a good Jr. mod.

That guy who Herbie Hide knocked out in one round is definitely a contender for worst heavyweight title challenger of all time

From this point on Ferguson became a part-time boxer, finding it difficult to find meaningful fights but used regularly by all the top contenders as a sparring partner, who preferred training with him than risking fighting him. In 1987 he fought only once, on the undercard of the Tyson/Tucker fight, knocking out ex-contender George Chaplin, sending him into retirement. In 1988 he fought 22-0 Orlin Norris for his NABF belt. Norris was a fast-rising prospect with slick skills and some big wins under his belt already. Ferguson's ring rust showed as he was outpointed over 12 dull rounds.
