    well, answer me this question:

Which of the experts took Norris over Mugabi before the bout started?

Which of the experts picked Terry to whip Ray before the bout started?

    etc etc

I'm sorry but Monday morning quarterbacking is meaningless

Your excellent posts reveal that Terry Norris is indeed a true force of nature who does not get his due from either the general public or the boxing cognoscenti. But if you seek to rectify this problem, wouldn't you be better off extolling Leonard's virtues as a fighter, so that people might truly understand the extraordinary nature of Norris' accomplishment in beating him? :think

So Norris wanted to be hit by Brown ,Boudouani, and Mullings?

"Norris was a 7-1 favorite against Mullings, who had won just one of his previous six fights".

    Have a mouth wash.
You have a serious case of:smh

Originally, I pointed out that Leonard's sole weakness was that he couldnt handle speed

I foresaw this far into the future. In fact, right after the Hagler fight (the next morning)

When I first saw Norris (his loss to Jackson) I mar-velled at the speed of this future hall of famer. So quick, so dazzling, before meeting with inglorious defeat

I thought to myself "he met with defeat TODAY, but this is the kind of fighter, if given the chance, that would beat the pants off Leonard "

Well, surprise of surprises! Leonard actually SIGNED to meet with Norris in December of 1990

I was somewhat surprised myself that Leonard was still fighting and why he would even consider facing this kind of opponent is beyond me, but sign he did

I knew right then N there he had signed his death warrant, because he'd have no chance against such speed!

and sure enough, he was beaten to the punch in nearly every exchange, including the traps Leonard set for him when backed on the ropes

This was NOTHING like the Hagler fight where Leonard could simply counterpunch with impunity against a slow plodding fighter with no speed

Terry, both quick of eye and hand alike, would not be struck in return and got much the better of it

Rooster had been proven right simply because Leonard dared to go beyond the steady diet of stiffs Dundee had chosen for him

Could 1991 Norris have whipped 1984 Leonard at this same weight?

Yes, I believe so with nearly 100% confidence

and YOU sir, have a serious case of sour grap*es

Simply put: my man proved superior to YOUR man, both head to head, and including what he did with this title

Leonard: ZERO defenses vs Norris' 10 def

you must be pretty weak as a champ if you can't make one measly defense!

or to put it ANOTHER WAY, Norris who scored TWO knockdowns of Leonard vs Leonard's ZERO knockdowns of Norris!

Or to put it ANOTHER way, 120 Norris - Leonard 106

    beaten every which way imaginable

    Read it and weep!

Norris if you didn't know, is a hall of fame fighter. So how is it he falls short?

If he made ten defenses of his title. and Leonard made none at the same weight, does that not make him better?

If he outscored him in their fight, how does that make Terry inferior? (according to you) :nut

I've never understood why some people are embarrassed about coming out of the SRL closet

If you're a fanboy, say so

as for my being a troll,, I suppose ad hominem arguments are a must when your man loses by a margin of 120-106

I guess you were none to pleased at the outcome. Hmm?

you probably looked something like this :fire as Terry's speed made leonard look like a man in a clumsy gorilla suit impersonating a boxer

If you think you can annoy me think again,I couldn't give a f*ck about either Leonard or Norris, you're just mildly irritating ,like a gnat, and about as important in the grand scheme of things.

I was never a huge fan of Leonard. However I watched live his bouts as an Olympic amateur as well as most all his pro bouts.

He had amazing hand and foot speed.
KO punch in either fist as a Welterweight.
    Great jab.
    Great combination puncher.
    Very hard to hit cleanly.

Regarding his first bout with Hearns being able to summon an inner strength to come on to win in a losing fight against the best opposition is a clear sign of all time greatness. This was a remarkable comeback.

Beat Hagler was also a great all time performance. Close fight but in the end he outsped, outboxed Hagler who looked in slow motion in comparison.

Overrated? No way. A true ATG.

And likewise, Norris outsped, outboxed Leonard who looked slow in comparison. That's how fast Norris was people!

Leonard can't be an all time great because that's what Norris is; and since that's the case, Leonard is a near great as I mentioned before
