    No No.

Leonard was a pretty good puncher. He had a snappy lefthook and he could hurt you. Not on the level of Robinson but my point was when Ray Leonard did throw those shoeshines/flurries they were not Knockout punches like Robinson`s. Leonard flurried much of the time to steal rounds.

Unless you want to tell me that Leonard didnt do that then Id have to ask if youve ever seen him fight?

Brit or English, Flea? Some people I've talked to at G&D (an english restaurant and pub here) have gotten Heated over being called a 'Brit'. Not by me of course, I've just seen it.

Well, I'm English but with a Scottish Grandfather, a Dad who lived in Scotland for some of his childhood, and a very Scottish name, I'm happy to be called British. I'm not one of these 'England 'til I die' fanatics you may or may my have come across and I'm proud of my roots (Granddad was from sane area as Benny Lynch)

There's actually an area right next to it called"The New Gorbals" now.

Gorbals is the Gorbals, although some people from there call it the Sooth Side, and with the strong accent it sounds like Suicide.
The South Side covers a big area but they like to claim exclusivity.

I run past some lovely gaffs right next to the Clyde(not the main waterfront, more off the green towards Rutherglen Road) and they're lovely, but you've got tower blocks and shady tenements within 100 yards.

On a positive note, you'd get quite good rental value given the quality of the flats.

Again, what you say here is mostly based on his fight against Hagler - a MW that was close to impossible to KO even for the most hard hitting MWs. To a lesser extent you could say something similar for his fights with Duran (not the first, though).

But in most fights he threw punches and combinations with the intent to hurt his man. Mayweather, Price, Green, Kalule, Hearns, LaLonde and many more.

He was more than a "pretty good puncher". That you persist in making him out like some shoeshiner is frankly embarassing.

    Bokaj,

Correct, Ray Leonard, when he sat down on his feet, was a very hard puncher.

Those fast flurries, was what we television producers call 'effective showmanship'.

We needed those 'clips' for the released sports highlights that the News Sportscasters
    asked for their segments.

Hector Camacho also, obliged us many times with those 'blazing flurries'.

The difference is that Leonard obliged us with lots of KO's as well. It may well be that the blinding fast flurries Leonard thrhew now and then was what ended up in the highlights, but when you actually bother to see his fights you see a guy out to do damaga, and who did it much more often than not.

Of his wins in title fights, only one is on points. And that's the one over Hagler. You don't get that kind of record by shoe-shining.
