He's extremely deep in the conversation. Comfortably one of the most balanced well rounded fighters ever to lace 'em up. It stands out like dogs balls.

He doesn't beat Hearns without " Brawling " in their 1st fight, and if the 2nd fight was a 15rd fight, he'd won that too by " Brawling ".
He could've easily have won a convincing dec over Ayub Kalule without taking the punishment he took to get the Ko. He went toe to toe with the bigger and undefeated southpaw champ.
Against Larry Bonds he stood right in front of a very tricky and skilled south paw, took one or two, to land four or five, and gave a clinic on how to break an opponent down with viscous body punching.
Duran in Montreal, stood toe to toe with the ultimate " Brawler" the last few rds he actually won , though Duran clearly won the fight by winning the earlier rds.
In fact, I believe the way he fought in the 1st fight, was the actual reason the 2nd fight went the way it did. The seeds in Duran mind started in Montreal. Sprouted in New Orleans .
I could go on. In most of Leonard's earlier fights before his championship run , he could be very reckless in his attempts to ko his opponents.
That he was smart enough to fight cautiously and outsmart Hagler is a sign of greatness, if Hearns had did the same, he'd probably had won his fight against Hagler too.
By the way, Hagler had every opportunity to trap Leonard and stop him, especially in that 9th rd when he had him hurt in the corner. But who actually took a step back , who BRAWLED his way out the corner?
You don't like Leonard, that's fine. But be fair and factual about him. When you don't, you come off as a hater and uneducated about the true history of boxing and that particular fighter.
The topics about Ray Leonard, NOT Floyd Mayweather Jr.

He beat Hearns in their first fight simply cause Hearns got tired towards the end, otherwise Hearns was dominating him.
And Hearns clearly won their rematch, but was robbed, just like Hagler was.

He brawled with Duran cause Duran was smaller than him, he didn't have the balls to brawl it out with Hagler.

Boy, I don't think you'll like this: Joe Louis stops Evander Holyfield. Lennox Lewis, and Wlad Klitschko even at their respective peaks.

Prime Larry Holmes beats Bowe and Lewis and prime Iron Mike.

60s Ali beats all of the above.

Just my opinion, interested in your reaction (I await the shrapnel, not just from you but from a couple of generally predictable members).

And all your opinions have no reality cause all your picks are outrageous and I won't give a breakdown in detail cause its not needed none of those fighters have fought anybody close to a skilled level of fighter you picked them to beat, they all are out of date fighters who never would beat them or give them a struggle,my words are fact from video, nobody you named who would win fought anybody exactly as the people you said they would beat, which means your opinion is just that

A very clear and concise, counter to White Bombers assertions, and of which I alluded to in my post, this poster seems to court argument and dissent, had a run in with him a while ago, he seems to think its his way or the highway, shame...
    stay safe buddy.

This is why you won't get very far posting in a forum. You provide no grounds for your counter assertions, plus you have already begun using ad hominem arguments.

If your IQ was about five points lower you'd be moneytheman, the worse troll on this forum since I've been here.

Please try filling out your redactions with measurable data. If you have an opinion, that's fine we'll respect it as long as you make sure it's not really just a close-minded invective. All I did was make assertions based upon my own opinion of those fighter's skill sets. I could be wrong, sure.

    Otherwise, I welcome you here!

The pattern of both the Leonard/Hearns fights were exactly the same. The key difference was the knock downs Hearns had in the 2nd fight, and the fact of it was 12rds. If the 2nd fight was 15rds Leonard wins that too. By Ko , Hearns was finished in th 12rd of the 2nd fight, and was battered from one side of the ring to the other. He was saved by the bell.
Conversely, if the 1st fight was 12rds. Hearns wins. It's simply how the two fighters matched up.

Everyone that " Brawled" with Hagler got crucified. Some of the best" brawlers " and hardest punchers in the history of the division were taken apart by what made Hagler special. That's taking apart fighters that came at him.
That's my reason for my belief he'd take apart most of the ATG middleweights in history, fighters like Walker, Greb, Lomatta, Zale, Tiger etc.
But he may have and did have issues with smart ATG'S , fighters that could out maneuver him, force him to lead, like Duran and Leonard.
And may have had serious issues with Jones Jr. And Nunn, fighters with great talent, but not seen as ATG'S.
Only a fool fights to his opponents advantages. It's the reason why Hearns had to be carried out the ring like a new born baby. He fought Hagler's fight. He did what Hagler wanted him to do.
Hearns fought with his ego against Hagler not his boxing IQ .
I believe the catalyst for what happened in the Hagler / Hearns fight was Hearn's absolute destruction of Duran. Hearns began to believe he could ko everyone after the Duran fight.
It bit him in the ass against Hagler.

All fights should be 10 rounds tops, 5 if it were up to me, and a win must be obtained by KO. If neither gets the KO, neither gets paid.
That way we'd see some proper fighting.

Jones Jr. is without a doubt an ATG, he was nigh on invincible in his prime.
