We know that it happened that African sportsmen and especially footballers pretended to be younger than they were. When I was in college, my city's football team was getting busted by a rival club that played clearly major guys (I'm French). Honestly, Takam seems so fresh to me and also manages to maintain such an energy-intensive style that I sometimes wonder if he is indeed the advertised 42 years old. Moreover, he is a boxer who has taken damage with many heavy knockouts and violent fights. Apparently he had done the All Africa Games in 2003 and the Athens Olympics in 2004. This would therefore give him 22-23 years old in his first known competitions.
Takam claims to have a 117-year-old grandmother (which is next to impossible). https://www.lefigaro.fr/sports/boxe...l-hygiene-de-vie-extremement-stricte-20230311
The guy is amazingly fit. But I think his right arm broke off at the end there. He couldn't lift it. That's probably it for him, especially if it's a long rehab.
Guys like Takam, Forrest and even Chisora do a valuable service in boxing. They are litmus tests for new guys. I'm really glad Takam won as I suspected he would be paid to give Yoka rounds and an decent comeback win. Really good stuff. I hope he gets some decent paydays after this. Also seems like a gent who loves the sport
No way a 40 year old man can carry that much defined muscle mass and box 12 rounds without the help of steroids.
Takam has always been built like a tank and basically lives in a gym. That + genetics make it certainly possible to look like that. Some of these Cameroonian men are built differently. I remember a football player of my favorite team who used to train with billiard balls to improve his heading. Hard as nails. Glad Takam finally got a "big win", especially at that age. Wouldnt mind to see a fight vs Ortiz next.
Nah, he's juicing his nuts off. Same as everyone else in the division. He does have great genetics for an older gent though, and clearly takes his craft incredibly seriously. I don't think I've ever seen him in anything resembling poor shape. Seems to learn and improve his skills every time I see him too.
