I feel like because other big fights in boxing haven't happened, they've been forced to make this one. It's definitely 1-2 years too early, especially for Garica's career at 24 years old. Oscar was talking about bringing back the glory days, but this is not the way to do it. Fights like AJ/wilder, AJ/Fury, Fury/Usyk and many others should've happened before this.
Garcia is just a baby, still nowhere near his prime, not sure why his team took this fight. A loss will be hard to take at this young age
Yup garcia is is physical specimen but his experience is far below average, tank will play it safe in the early rounds and break him down round by round and stop him once garcia is no longer dangerous.
No the fight should've happened for awhile now. Everyone was excited about this great class of fighters at 135 and so far we only got loma-teo.
They are doing the fight because Gervonta " Piece of Garbage " Davis can get up to 7 years in prison so that's why they are doing the fight now.
Was it to early when Leonard and Hearns fought? Or how about Whitaker and Mayweather? De La Hoya and Trinidad?
I can see Garcia loading up on the left hook all night long. Not setting anything up, just launching heavy shots over and over. Tank knows not to get in big exchanges with him. I also see Garcia frustrated.
Nah it's happening at the right time. Let's look at it. 2019, for me, was when the 'Four Kings' thing first popped up properly. It then gained some traction in late 2020/early 2021 when Teo beat Loma, Tank beat Leo, Ryan beat Luke and Devin beat Jorge (some say Devin's stock dropped in that fight but idk). The guys could've paired up and started fighting each other, maybe with a few rematch clauses, and made some mayhem at 135. At the very least the fights could've marinated maybe a year tops Problem is, through 2021 and 2022, Ryan doesn't fight for a year and talks about retirement, Teo gets upset by George in a perfect storm of a fight, Tank stays somewhat consistent but still keeps it all in-house @ PBC and Devin smells blood with George, going down the ESPN/Loma route Now it's 2023. Teo has moved up to 140 and has a huge fight against Taylor, who himself hasn't moved up to 147. Devin will be fighting Loma and then immediately moving up to 140 too I imagine. Ryan has basically moved up to 140 himself, and while Tank had a swing at 140, that was more of a WBA Regular cherrypick. Shakur has also moved up to 135. Times have changed So Tank-Ryan in 2023 is basically the final chance we've got of the so-called 'Four Kings' at 135 fighting each other. Ryan looks huge compared to Tank, and given how Tank is the oldest of these guys, he's only going to keep getting smaller than them (though his power deffo equalises things lbr). For me, Ryan's in a weird spot where he's not experienced enough to fight the big dogs at 140, but he will walk through most other contenders. So he really needs a big win, and boiling down to fight Tank could be that tl;dr I think now is the perfect time
By age 23, Floyd Mayweather already fought Gennaro Hernandez and Diego Corrales. At age 25 he fought Jose Luis Castillo twice. 24 is not young for Garcia to take a big fight.
so what if he were to lose? kid is learning, developing. a loss is a bump on the road when youre destined for bigger things. look at canelo. not saying ryan is destined for greatness, but if he were, a loss here aint gonna end him.
its not early. Canelo also lost vs Mayweather in his early 20s and still became a boxing superstar. I hate this early ****, just bring on good fights. You can always get back on track and win. Loss is tarnishing a legacy only in the heads of DKSAB fans.
He's been rushed into the fight and y'all know it. People just want to see Ryan lose asap because of the popularity he gets on Social Media. Also he will be walking around like a skeleton on fight night lol
