No, somebody has to pay, and he's not anything within the spectrum of where he would be fighting now.

To suggest he's amongst the best 20 is ludicris.

Any true, knowledgeable fan should respect Taylor as a very good fighter. It's mostly biased Calzaghe nuts that want to take away Pavlik's accomplishments by saying Taylor is a hype job. Taylor has fought better opposition than Cal, Kessler, Abraham combined.

Taylor is a very good, A-class fighter. He is not an elite fighter or a PfP guy, but he's a formidable opponent for anyone in the 160-68 range, with the probable exception of Calzaghe.

    Still, Pavlik KO 5.

I hope Jermain moves up and takes on someone who will punch with him but not as hard as Pavlik. He can make more money, then hopefully retire in a couple years with a healthy brain and 8-figure bank account.

Sure Taylors not a bad fighter.
But he will not beat Pavlic in this lifetime.
After his upcoming beating , his stock will drop significantly.
He is only in it for the money -- he has basically stated that.
So after Pavlic, his career will be short lived if any.

I think Taylor beats Pavlik this time around, but if he doesn't, I have no idea where he goes from here.

I think JT was confident of putting Kelly away quick last fight and took some chances and got KTFO. I doubt he will take any chances this time if he goes to war again with Pavlik he gets KTFO again.

Jermain will be running jabbing and trying to speed his way to a decision this time. He cannot beat Kelly in a fight his only chance is to out speed Kelly counter and make Pavlik come to him pitty pat and get out and repeat all night.

I hope Jermain goes in there like the last time trying to fight straight up cause if he does Pavlik by KO!!!!

I guess he feels he was a bit dry and ran out of gas the first time around.

The reasoning has a little merit, but I don't agree with it. He just doesn't have a frame built for endurance. Guys who have that speed and power rarely ever have endurance. And he'll likely tank at 168 the same as 160.

He may try and be a bit more selective with his blitzing. Overall though I think Pavlik just has a huge edge in confidence and mindset. Taylor is all over the place anxious during his fights and because of that he wastes alot. I'd have to say Pavlik survives him early again for another late stoppage or cruisin UD.

My money is on Pavlik, but I'm not counting Taylor out on this.

I'm going against the grain again here but I think Jermain will emerge victorious here. He's a better technical boxer than Kelly and should win a decision if it goes 12. I don't think Kelly's ever seen the 12th round. Taylor was winning the last fight when he got stopped.

If this ends early, Kelly would have to be favoured. But even there, the result is far from certain. Jermain was 10 seconds and an ounce of clear-headed calmness away from stopping Pavlik very early.

I'm almost as optimistic re his chances in the rematch as I was first time.

If he loses, then his stock takes a serious hit.

    :yep

First off here is no shame in losing to Kelly Pavlik. His last 6 opponents had a combined total of 163 fights with 116 knock outs. Four of them had never been stopped, but against Pavlik they got annilihated. At only 25 years of age Kelly is still learning his craft, and improving with each fight. We will ulitmately remember him as a solid 3 division champion, and eventually see him in the hall of fame.

After Kelly scores a 5th round KO in the rematch Taylor will have to back up and regroup. He'll have to fight a couple B- or C+ type guys at 168 before going after another title, but I see no reason for him to retire unless he decides it's best for him and his family.
