I had the 104-103 going into the last Round. You need to take the title from the champion, any round that is close goes to the champion.

like macracken said after the 7th or 8th round,he was trying to steal rounds by throwing fast combos for the last 30secs.
each round after the 3rd was v close, you are fighting a well known yank in his back yard,we all know about home town verdicts, and thats what he got off 2 of the judges,i had it evenish going into last round.
this stamina bollocks as well is bollocks,he has done 24 rounds with hopkins,19 rounds with pavlik and been 12 rounds with others who's names i cant spell:patsch
he just got beat of the tougher stronger man,and proved himself to be world class:good

i dont see why not. he boxed well for 11 and a half rounds and just got caught with a good shot. unlucky, but it dont mean he's finished. i think his performance against froch up to the KO will stand him in good stead. just as many people are talking about how well he was doing before he got chinned as they are about the KO itself.

Fair enough, but he might now find it difficult to get any big fights without leaving the cosy confines of the United States. Taylor has always been dead set against leaving his U.S. comfort zone for any fight. He may have no option now. His bargaining power has gone right downhill after being KO'd for the second time in four fights. Almost all the big fights (Froch rematch, Bute, Kessler, Balszay) are against overseas fighters who would be perfectly within their rights to tell him to get his passport out, which we know Jermain doesn't like doing!

Taylor needs to prove he deserves them first IMO. The guy's lost 3 of his last 4 and been KO'd twice. He's already managed to get opportunities he hasn't earned thus far in his career due to having good connections. This time, it's time to get back to the contender circuit and earn it.

I disagree. His promoter was powerful enough to make the champ travel. Taylor after one good win is a perfect American fight for the three other champs as well as Abrahms who says he is staying at 160 just to face Pavlik.

Taylor has been ko'd in wars by extremely heavy handed guys so I see no shame there.

Let's keep it old school. Fighters fight, they win, they lose, but they keep fighting and when all is said and done we'll sit down over a brandy and cigar and discuss their historical standing.

True to some extent. There certainly was no shame in those KO losses, however, it is pretty well unarguable that Taylor's standing in the game has gone down as a result of them, he was favoured to beat both guys. Froch wasn't forced to go to America, he did so because he has balls. If Taylor wants a rematch, he'd be perfectly to demand it is in England. If Taylor wants shot at anyone else he will probably have to earn it and then to travel. It is now that we are going to find out what Taylor is all about as a fighter.

Agreed on the cigar and brandy :good

Taylors light doesn't shine as bright as it once did but I think he's found his level. For one reason or another he has split fights with quality opponents. Wins over Hopkins and Lacy are good, even if he has lost to Pavlik and Froch.

Taylor should have to come to the UK and face the boos, jet lag etc that Froch faced. It is only fair. I don't think Taylor can fight any better where as Froch should be able to up his game.
