Good post. When switched on and fully dialed in, Teo's a P4P type of talent.

And while I don't know the absolute extent to which his health issues affected him against Kambosos, I do believe it was indeed a factor.

Of course, unlike some midwits, I can differentiate between an excuse and a reason/factor.

He'd whoop Kambosos in a rematch.

He can't be more inconsistent that aj. Lopez has 2 legitimate wins against elite fighters and just lost to Kam via overconfidence. Other bad performances he still won

But then again aj just isn't that good, so by this stand yes Lopez is more inconsistent

Hi Rubber Glove Sandwich! Yeah, I'd love to answer this. Yes, Teo is pretty inconsistent as he keeps getting derailed every time he's about to establish dominance in a division. The thing is at least the guys who defeated (or even arguably, I have Kam and Martin beating Teo) Teo were ranked at the time (Kambosos #8 by Ring for 135 lbs and Martin #10 by Ring for 140 lbs). Also Teo has never been stopped no matter how bad his performance was.

My award for the most inconsistent active boxer goes to Josh Warrington. Guy got stopped by an unranked Mauricio Lara and then got outboxed by another unranked fighter at the time Luis Alberto Lopez. Both of his conquerors were not ranked in the top 10 for 126 lbs by most media outlets.

PS: Teo also beat far better competition than Warrington by defeating 2 P4P fighters in Loma and Taylor soundly. Warrington never won against that level of opposition.

And he arguably lost to Ortiz and Martin.
Yet he still mopped the floor with Commey and Magdaleno but struggled baddly with Nakatan.

Yep, I couldn't believe they chose Ortiz as an opponent in the first place, it seems his own team don't understand his limitations which probably explains why he hasn't improved at all fighting on the front foot.

Like I keep saying, it's a different ballgame when these weight bullies move up and start fighting opponents their own size instead of leprechauns 2 or 3 divisions smaller than them who are campaigning in a weight class they don't belong in.

Remember when I said let see how Teofimo fares trying to become undisputed in his third weight class up at 147 trying to win all the belts individually against the best fighters in that weight class who are way bigger than him and the hardest punchers in that division like Loma did against him and at 135.

Difference is 135 is only Loma's third division because he turned pro at almost 26 y/o. Had he turned pro aged 19 like Teo did it would be like his 6th weight class with same day weigh ins or maybe more if he wanted to be a massive weight bully. Super Boots is the athletic power punching phenom at 147 that Teofimo was at 135 but how many rounds do you think Teofimo lasts aginst him in his third weight class? 1 or 2? And obviously Loma had to do it fighting on the road or in his opponent's backyard whereas Teofimo would be trying to do so at home all the time.

And it's also a different ballgame when you fight on the road or in your opponent's backyard with a full set of home officials, something he has never done once.

His power was devastating at 135, legit one punch KO power in both hands, especially when you're a 140 pounder facing an injured blown up 126. We see this all the time with weight bullies - their power is just not the same when they move up and start fighting opponents their own size or bigger.

Sure he beat the bigger Taylor but that was an injury-ravaged shot confidence inactive Taylor who was clearly not the same fighter he was a few years ago or the one we saw under the tutelage of Shane McGuigan.
