I'll be up front and say i'm a bit shocked about the vitriol on the board, but that's neither here nor there because it be real, you. So the fact that it's real makes me wonder, is that HBO done with Klitschko? Anyone hearing a mutter, or got any feeling about this? How was the reaction on the broadcast generally?
The commentary was terrible I'm a big Wlad fan, I admit the fight blew but Kellerman was aweful couldn't hide a bias at all even before the fight The relationship with Wlad will stay the same act like he doesn't exist til the next huge fight unless that big fight never comes
How are ya Mcg? I think they will be. Wlad looked horrible, and just imagine the viewers that switched off and didn't hang around for the main event after that replay? I watched the live stuff on BN and had told my dad not to miss the Klit fight on HBO. I switched it off and forgot how bad it was, and forgot to tell me dad to not bother with the replay on HBO. Then at around 10:30 PM he texted and said "What the fcuk did you try and make me watch" and said he was going to bed.
To take it further they act like all the clinches were his fault and that he only won because of it I said well what about the punches that did all that damage While I defend Wlad a little he isn't innocent. No right hand, he carried the guy and when he proved in the 10-6 rd he could push out of clinches and pummel AP he never did it again
HBO is cheap in terms of what they will pay in non PPV fights and is pretty much out of the heavyweight business for now because there are no American's worth watching in their eyes. Wlad does not need HBO. He can sell out in other areas of the world. I felt HBO issued some cheap shots, with Jones talking about chins, and Kellerman being historically in-accurate.
I agree. Max Kellerman had an anti-Klitschko agenda which was obvious even before the fight started. Max had an angry tone in his voice whenever he was talking about Wladimir. And he was still bashing Wlad in the evening during the Crawford-Klimov fight. I thought Jim Lampley's comments were generally fair, though. He was critical too, but not in a hateful way.
Roy Jones was on point last night. Lampley has been shot for years and Kellerman is a big heavyweight fan so of course he'd be frustrated with the crap Wlad was doing
Kellerman remarked that Wlad was a level below ALi, Louis, Johnson. But that Wlad is not entertaining and ugly to watch. But Wlad looked awful and was gassing early. I dont have epix so HBO please keep HW action with Wlad televised.
That was a joke. Kellerman does not know what he's talking about. Johnson's title defenses were even worse than Wlad's as he avoided the best around, and clinched even more.
For Kellerman to say "I'll bet the audience is glad the fight is half over" is beyond belief. Doesn't get anymore unprofessional than putting down your own product especially when it was only half finished at the time. The real question should be is HBO done with Max Kellerman?
Lets be real here. Wlad cheated Povetkin out of any hope of winning that fight. For all Pov's bravery and the punishment to took to make a go of with with fair clean boxing , to be cheated out of the opportunity by Wlad and the ref is an absolute fukking travesty. Wlad has no business in boxing anymore. Not on HBO not anywhere.
Yeah, there's no place in the world for the best heavyweight on the planet What with you not liking him and all.
