That was one of the least entertaining heavyweight fights I have ever seen. A great big dude laying all over his opponent. Other than a sneaky uppercut / forearm to the face that was a borderline foul there was little if any real skill on display to be enjoyed by even the purest of boxing fan. It was all I could do to not fast forward to the Cotto fight. Compared to the last Klitschko fight HBO did, the commentary this time around seemed fair enough. All night long I heard off key whistling ( euro equivalent to booing ) every time Wlad initiated a clinch. It seems to me that the European fight fans long for a little more action.

If an American ever beats Wlad, he will be HBO's new darling. Too bad for HBO and Wlad's critics who would hate him no matter what he did.

Do not misunderstand me, I basically hate the way Wlad fought against Povetkin but I hate HBO and Wlad's legions of critics a Hell of a lot more.

They had some bad audio feed problems early that persisted for a good while.

I think HBO will still take a shot on him here and there depending on the opponent. If Arreola ever faced Wlad, for example, I bet they'd hop on board.

HBO will put his next fight on as long is it is wilder or he fights someone in the US, just cause they don't like him does not mean he does not get viewers, keep in mind he an his brothers always have nice ratings.

GRABIMIR can sell out in Germany because they will watch any ****.
The fight was a disgrace a limited plodder who at 34 has never learned to slip a jab trying to fight a man who had no desire to engage .Only the referee was more farcical than Grabimir. All his fights stink and this was one of the worst.
I told you Povetkin was about as good as Lee Savold and he proved it.

He lacks power , head movement and is very predictable , no variation or feinting, he just trundles forward, without any attempt to roll his way in.
You talk about how Jack Johnson couldn't adapt today because of he relied on clinching, what about that big oaf leaning all over Povetkin all night?

He should have had points deducted from the 3rd round on.
If I didn't have Box Nation on subscription I would not have paid for that crap.
The US has never been that keen on Grabimir, I very much doubt that will change after that bore fest.

HBO will most likely continue hosting depending on who Wladimir fights. If it's the winner of Fury-Haye or even Chisora they most likely will. At this stage HBO would look for any decent fight to host in order to compete with SHOWTIME.
