Is that supposed to be boxing ?

    Mormeck got inside, but would not throw punches. To me, his purse should be held back pending an enquiry. That was probably one of the worst Heavyweight title fights I have seen. Pantomime.

    Wlad seems to grab way to much. He throws a punch, if it misses he grabs. Last night he looked as if his style is based only on deciding punch grab, grab punch in combinations. Punch, miss, grab, push down... repeat all fight until the opponent gets bored and takes a big right hand and goes down deciding they have had enough.

    Surely just grabbing the opponent is against the rules, he must have done it loads of times?

    that's just Wlad's style, I'm not saying it's pretty to watch, but it must be very effective since Wlad's got all but one belt

    this fight was an outrageous mismatch, it was disgraceful to watch Mormeck land 3(!) punches in 4 rounds, it looked more like MMA or wrestling because of all the holding

    hope we will never have to watch something like this again

    It was a terrible performance by Mormeck, not as bad as Spinks vs. Tyson, but pretty bad.

    Even allowing for the physical disparities between them and Mormeck's age and inactivity it was still a 'subdued' performance and that's being as charitable as possible. He brought nothing to the table and I enjoyed the laser show more than I enjoyed the fight.

    If no-one cares much about mismatches than let's have a couple with a reasonable possibility of an upset because Mormeck had no conceivable chance of winning that fight. Let's see Chris Arreola, Robert Helenius or even Michael Grant in with Wlad and give us something a little more interesting.

    If Viltali hadn't been injured, I image his fight with Chisora would have been fairly similar.

    Basically then Wlad can bash and grab his way through the next few years of small challengers who have no chance of winning. :happy

    I can understand someone grabbing on if they are hurt, but not standing a couple of feet away from each other with your arms out ready to grab your opponent rather than hit them.

    Boxing should be running your mouth, and then running for dear life in the ring.
    Or slapping your opponent in the face, spitting in the face and then walk right into his punches at the fight.
    Or having a whole island of boxers that come up short when it really matters.
