Undefeated records generally aren't even possible when you take on the best of the best under every and all circumstances. Particularly with the participation of judges. A fighter with a record that reads '0' losses hasn't met every challenge.

The 0 is not over rated, being an undefeated champion is what all boxers attempt to achieve. Of course the quality of fighters you fight at the top is even more important.

    Quoted for the truth.

It certainly means we're talking about a great fighter, if one manages to retire with an "0", but every challenge? Nope.

I might even add to that every reasonable challenge.

These guys miss all sorts of top competition directly in and around their weight classes. They fight total non-threats instead of better guys just to sneak into deals that are cheatingly sweet.

The "0" does not matter at all when judging fighters. When comparing fighters of course you have to take this into consideration though. It's a double edged sword. Like I think it matters when comparing Pac and Calzaghe...and doesn't matter when comparing Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali. Substance of the fighter the fighter at the time you fought them, styles, prime OP, style, record of opponent are just a few of many factors when judging fighters. Like people say Pac beat Dlh better than Floyd. Dlh did not fight Floyd at 147, fought him at 154 and was over 160 unoffcially when he fought Floyd. Pac fights Dlh, Dlh is older, weighed in at 145 and weighed unoffcially like 147 or 148 by fight night, and was depleted by making the weight. Substance means a lot. The "0" is one of many factors when judging and comparing fighters...that's all.

Even though you took it a bit too far, there's also some truth in this statement as well.

LOL, too far in terms of actual circumstances - definately. What I was referring to is how it should be.

Fighters like Floyd, Ricardo Lopez, Marciano are accused of not facing the best. In this sport, though it is rare, you can retire undefeated. This is no way puts the undefeated fighter above a fighter who has lost. All factors have to be considered.

Absa****inlutely. If they're undefeated it just means they haven't tried hard enough.
