in terms of knocking people out the media, fans always expect a knockdown or knockouts from pac even if he were to domiant guys like mayweather has on points thats not good enough for pac

on the other hand people never expect mayweather to get knockdowns or knockouts if he wins on points its a great win for him but if pac wins on points people say he should of knocked the guy out...;)

I'm not so sure that the bars raised so to speak, but as pacman is/has been an offensive fighter his whole career and floyd has always been considered defensive it tends to make sense that the offensive fighter (any offensive fighter) should get kos and kds while the defensive fighter would win on points (and defensive minded fighter)

But I do see where you're coming from

if the bar was raised it was pac that did it. people keep promising knockouts keep predicting knockouts int he leadup to all his fights. he has not had a knockout since 09 his style has changed since then and it has focused around more boxing. he no longer lunges at you with a 7 punch combination with accuracy that overwelms and puts you down. he knows he may not have 1 punch knockout power but if he sets up the good shot with his southpaw unorthadox angles then he can put you down

just like he did algieri, algieri very hesitant pawing the jab out for 20 seconds and pac looks focused as hell bobbing with his gaurd up patiently waiting then he picks the right moment and follows that jab back in on an angle BAM right in the kisser

i dont think his power has changed as much as people think but i feel his accuracy has taken a big hit, and according to the numbers pac throws less then the average welterweight which if you said to be 5 years ago i would have laughed in your face

~ KO% as Pacroid. FACT! Floyd don't make a big deal of it though, he's just all around better.

The bar is not raised, he set the expectation himself. He got KO's by fighting come forward fighters or brawlers that were tailor made, that's what he fought to look good, and make a name for himself. Now he is expected to fight other types of fighter's because people want to see him challenged, and now he cannot produce KO's because of it, oh well, that's his fault.

The bar was raised by Ariza. Without Ariza Pac can only hurt ESPN fighters.

yeh but mayweather has not been a power puncher since 140 days. actually it seems to be more his style, only lately do i see him really trying to sit on his punches.

The standards are different but equal. If mayweather bleeds then he hasn't fought well. No one batted an eyelid at pacquiao getting his ear busted against cotto.

We all know that he KO'd (after not being able to beat the standing 8 count) and shortly after, TKO'd Chris (after the ref got in the middle of Pac's assault), but due to poor officiating, Chris was allowed to survive.
Just goes to show that at the lower weights, Pac still has KO/KD power.

So what is this talk all about?

People are harder on Pacman to get KDs/KOs. But more forgiving of him to get KedD himself.
