Lets say, someone comes along and beats one of the brothers....then next fight gets to fight the other brother for 3 world titles + ring mag belt, tell me how that is so bad? Boxing fans are always bitching to have 1 beltholder, 1 main man in a division and K2 is providing a means for that to happen. It's not bad, unless you know you can't beat them in the first place!

Certainly no worse than the slave contract Haye signed with Sauerland.

Why so defensive? Despite not self-promoting themselves in 2000 I assume the Klits did have a significant word on how the contract looked like - I mean, after all they were the ones stepping in the ring, right? I'm sure Vitali could have said he'd wanted to rematch Byrd in case of losing instead of letting his brother take care of Byrd.
I gotta admit I'm speculating but it sounds plausible to me.

Yeah but that's not what the OP asked for. I brought this fight up because Wlad revenged Vitali as opposed to Vitali's revenge wins over Puritty and Sanders.

I don't think King ever did anything as shameful as that, honestly.

    Got a source on this?

I've never heard of that clause, haven't heard of happening in previous fights either, but for arguement's sake I'll assume it's correct. Nevertheless, Haye called them both out, going so far as make a T-Shirt of himself carrying around Vitali's severed head. It also makes economic sense, because if Haye did beat Wlad he'd be holding three titles and his value would be sky high, and Vitali would obviously be his #1 contender, and the winner of that fight would be undisputed champion. That would be a hugely profitable fight, and could be well marketed. Also, from a boxing fan's point of view, you should want that to happen.

A rematch clause is fine. Nobody has an issue with that.

What is bull****, is having to fight the guys brother. Total bollocks.

b./c if you win the first one youre in a better place to negotiate a higher percentage of the purse to fight the other brother.

My last word on this issue, if Haye wants to ***** and moan about contract stipulations, that is his business. What we don't need, is poeple who call themselves "boxing fans" saying a contract that could essentially unify the heavyweight division is bull****. Haye should consider himslef lucky he's been given such an oppurtunity. The amount of money he could make if he beat Wlad and then fight Vitali for the undisputed Heavyweight Championship of the World would be more money he's made in all his previous fights combined. It would also be the most important heavyweight fight in years. For anybody who thinks they are a boxing fan and thinks this is bull****, needs to take a objective step back from their David Haye poster on the wall and realize this would be the best thing the sport could possible have. It is no different than all the Mayweather fans who back their guy up dispite him only fighting once a year and sabotaging a fight with Pacquaio. Being a fan of a fighter is great, but you need to be a fan of the sport first and foremost.

Why not just put in a rematch clause?
