It seems with Joshua its always PPV when he has his titles, not only that they host his big fights in the biggest arena possible, it obviously sells and people are on the bandwagon. Though is this to the detriment of the sport at the lower levels, a bit like football all the money heads to the top, I like following fighters from as close to the start as possible, small hall shows and British level title fights are as good as any. Out of the promoters here I have to say I prefer Warren's shows, the fights are better matched. I enjoyed the stuff Cyclone did and Haye's recent show was not bad but a bit short and could have done with another couple of fights on it 4 or 6 rounders. So you have in the UK you have Sky Boxing BT Sport/Boxnation ITV PPV Freesports monthly Cyclone Promotions Haye Ringstar Occasional Fight on Premier Sports Hennesy/Youtube Did I miss any ????
The more platforms we have to watch boxing on the better. We really are in a great spot right now. Some weekends you have to decide whether you'll watch Ch5, Sky or Boxnation live and record the rest, plus you might have an international show later that night. It's great having so much to watch. My concern is this, how often do rival promoters put their stars in against one another? Not often enough in my opinion. So we might end up with a wealth of top stables being kept away from each other and that's to the detriment of the sport.
For me its now too much to cover it all, I watch UFC as well so Boxnation plus BT sport UFC I think is enough for me unless a fight comes on that I really want to watch on another channel apart from Sky Sports
You missed Channel 5 boxing Also the BBC shows the amateur boxing at Commonwealth & Olympic level Finally, there are Eurosport shows
